About Amaka

Amaka is a cloud-based solution, designed to help small to midsize businesses connect with accounting applications and automate the data entry process. Users can synchronize sales and transactional data with Xero, Quickbooks, MYOB. Amaka enables professionals to manage end of day register closures, monitor liabilities and refunds and perform reconciliation. It provides a summarized version of previous day’s sales and sorts the data by category, location or product type. The application also facilitates account, sales, and payment types to be automatically mapped with default accounts. Amaka offers integration with various third-party applications such as BigCommerce, Assignar, DocuSign, Square, Shopify, Squarespace, and more. The solution is available on both monthly and annual subscriptions and support is extended via live chat and knowledge base.

Amaka - thank you for helping me do a historical sync for MYOB and lots of other help

I have found that Amaka has been there when I need them. Recently I moved from Xero to MYOB for this financial year but I was really worried that when I finally got a chance to do all my book work that the syncing between my bank account and MYOB had stopped. I was so relieved when Lyle at Amaka could do a historical sync for me. I was up and running in no time thanks to Lyle and Amaka. There are so many software apps and systems for small businesses that are great but when they don't work or you don't understand something trying to get support from them is often long and arduous. NOT with Amaka. Not only do they set up 1:1 appointments but they chase you if you've become busy running your business. Thanks Amaka.

They are really helpful which is great because a lot of small businesses don't have IT support so its wonderful to know we can rely on Amaka for the software services they provide

Room for improvement
  • You can't get a 1:1 consult on the day you find the issue BUT that's because they are so busy helping other people
  • On the upside they pursue you if you forget to attend because life in your small business has taken over

Xero integration

Apart from the excellent customer service, there was extremely poor communication of the integration for Xero users, especially small business owners who do their own bookkeeping.

  • I was never consulted when Xero integrated with Amanka and therefore continued BAU for 3 months without knowing Square and Xero were not syncing
  • My quarterly BAS which has been lodged with the ATO is out and integration was complex and transactions duplicated
  • [SENSITIVE CONTENT] in your support services was outstanding and went above and beyond to help me

Pleasantly Pleased

I was pleasantly pleased with the help with integration, explanation of how to reconcile the accounts as square transactions come into the bank, and the explanation of the services offered to make reconciliations easier.

What they liked
  • I like the quality service in helping me understand the Square and Xero integration
  • I was also happy to hear about the services offered to help me with the management of reconciliations and discrepancies
  • The price seems reasonable and I will likely sign up for the service in the future
Room for improvement
  • The screen sharing in Zoom sometimes would not let me type in the boxes and I would have to stop sharing to type and then screen share again
  • However, this is likely a problem with Zoom rather than Amaka
