About AXIS POS

AXIS Retail Management System is a cloud-based point of sale and inventory management solution for the shooting sports industry. The solution is mainly used by firearms retailers and range operators. Key features include centralized customer data management, automatic internet backups and QuickBooks integration. Range operators can set up member profiles and offer multiple membership pricing structures such as annual or monthly pricing, family or corporate membership, etc. They can track waiver status as well. In addition, the solution helps operators schedule reservations and track shooter queues. Other offerings of AXIS Retail Management System include distributor inventory management, e-commerce integration, electronic invoicing and reporting. Users can create and manage training classes as the solution allows to track sign-ups as well as manage class sizes and meeting locations. Email reminders can be sent to enrollees of upcoming classes. Services are available on a subscription basis and support is available via phone and email.

AXIS POS- What it does, it does fairly well. Anything custom- may cause issues. +Bugs.

Good, needs more bug squashing and possibly a code-deep optimization to make sure negative values propagate properly.

What they liked

It is able to easily drive daily sumaries and invoices to Quickbooks (which I, as a bookkeeper/administrator/other use constantly), which makes paying bills much easier and keeping track of inventory levels total is helpfully kept with the adjustment postings

Room for improvement
  • There are BUGS
  • Quite a few bugs- but all are on the edges of the software
  • Mostly around things that are retrofitted to some degree- for example, we are a Gun Club, so we have house accounts for our more affluent members
  • Turns out if SGC returns something, and the house account goes negative, it can cause a HOST of issues
  • Other than that- fairly streamlined
