About BHL Insight

BHL Insight is a cloud-based and on-premise legal management solution that helps law firms manage workflows, accounting operations and marketing activities. It enables users to store customer contacts in an in-built database and create multiple client groups to send bulk invitations or newsletters for upcoming events. Features of BHL Insight include general ledger, customizable templates, task administration, bank reconciliation, document management, alerts/notifications and more. It comes with an executive dashboard, which lets managers review the performance of teams, departments and individuals on a centralized platform. Additionally, users can utilize the time capture module to measure employee productivity via timesheets, time diary, fee entries or time clock. BHL Insight facilitates integration with various third-party applications such as Microsoft Office, iManage, Hummingbird and more. Pricing is available on request and support is extended via phone, email and other online measures.

Professional Services Practice Management Software

The initial training is extensive as with any full featured system. The software has some minor issues which the supplier is working to rectify. There could be more information provided on how each of the functions of the system affects the General Ledger.

What they liked
  • The software has been written by people who understand what professional services firms need to operate their business
  • The software has an extensive suite of reports and the supplier is always accommodating to produce both common need reports and custom reports
Room for improvement
  • There are some functions which could be condensed to a one click function like Trust to office transfers
  • The supplier is working on addressing this improvement in efficiency

Thomson Reuters decided to end of life the product after only 3 years in the Australian market.
