Your models are handled by Geomagic Design X.
Geomagic Design X is widely utilized in the fields of engineering and manufacturing. It remains a good software, even if it wasn't to my personal liking.
The key feature that I like is the ability to create accurate 3D models from scanned data obtained from various sources such as 3D scanners, mesh files, and more
- What I don't like is the automatic generation of parametric design features
- From my point of view, I find it not very efficient

The industry-leading reverse engineering software (in my opinion)
Users praise DesignFiles for its user-friendly interface, responsive customer support, and ability to streamline workflows, particularly for mood boards and client approvals. However, frustrations with the 3D tools, limited furniture variety, and occasional clunkiness in features like background removal or floor planner navigation. The software is continuously updated based on user feedback, with regular webinars and video tutorials to support learning.
Time Savings, Ease of Use, Comprehensive Tools, Professionalism; it is an all-in-one interior design business software designed to streamline project management, client collaboration, and design processes for full-service and e-design interior designers
- The 3D feature is basic, with a limited product inventory and occasional misalignment between style boards and renderings
- Customization Gaps: Lacks some customization options
- Project Tracking: No centralized “Track Projects” tab to view all projects at once

25 years of use
I have seen this software grow and evolve since these first versions (in 1998). It's amazing how the tools and functions have evolved (with the evolution of 3D scanners and computers). It is for me, today, the most powerful and efficient tool for my daily modeling (meshes & CAD solids). I also use other software which are for me only secondary.I was able, thanks to this tool, to deliver hundreds of projects with a very appreciated result.
- The most significant for me is the user-friendliness of the interface
- Dialog boxes not too overloaded with functions and options
- The hybrid design mode that allows you to work with meshes, surfaces and solids
- The mastery and accuracy of reverse engineering with control tools
- I don't use any design assistant (Wizard) to keep control of my designs
- I also prefer to stay in a 3D sketch rather than a 3D mesh sketch
- This leaves more freedom in the design of 3D curves
- Still lack of being able to deactivate the snap filters in this mode (to be able to move a curve point without snapping to a background element)
- Atlas texture mapping missing (not possible to edit the map generated in DX)
- Many features are gone since Rapidform2006 (surface editing mode, displacement map generation, grey scale modeling (engraving), and many other)

The real reverse engineering software.
I enjoy using this software. Looking forward to see its new features with the force of Oqton.
- Being a user of Design X for 10 years, it is always enjoyable
- It is a dedicated software, not a patch
- You can connect your scanner and finish your design by usşng Design X only
- Freeform surface modelling is a piece of cake for it
- But, you have to know what kind of a workpiece you are working on
- It is a perfect solution in competent hands
- If you are familiar with a CAD software, Solidworks, Autocad, Inventor etc
- you can easily learn Design X
- I know that Design X developers does not spend time on features which are already in CAD softwares
- However, sometimes I lack for features like hole library, sheet metal modules etc
Why they chose it
"Geomagic Design X is a dedicated software for reverse engineering. Others just have a small patch or module of a CAD or inspection software."

Reverse engineering never been easy
Best
- Deviation analysis and ease of use of the software
- Surfacing is kinda lacking
- If we can do what catia/nx does with their surfacing
- This software is complete

Geomagic Design X
The software is easy to use. Reduce the time it takes to work well. But now there is a problem about Fit surface, which the data is not smooth, wrinkled skin.
- Function easily to use
- Work weel with scanned file
- There isn't any function that I don't like

Geomagic Design X Review.
10 out of 10
- I love the layout of the tool bar and how easy to find the tools
- Help menu is amazingly useful
- Lot of information included that can be access with click a button
- 3D sketch and transferring the 3d sketched could be little bit more better
- Sometimes I can't transfer the 3D sketches simply because of the geometry of the object or surface I am working with

Best scan to CAD software hands down
so much faster than any CAD plugin on the market. It's the only sensible choice if you are working with scan data several hours or more per week.
there are too many tools to name but one that really stands out is the amazing sketching functionality in this software
- It's expensive
- But there's nothing else like it and nothing to compare to
- The efficiency compared to other tools has been well worth the cost

Expensive, but great
It definitelly boosted my modelling and reverse engineering skills. I like to work with GDX and explore more features which I haven't used yet, there is always something that can help me work faster :)
- Variety of features which I can use to achieve the necessary result
The price - a lot of customers will rather buy less expensive (even not that good) SW to save money
