Operative IQ Review
Our fire service covers over 600 square miles and responds to over 60,000 calls. Our call volume and utilizing Operative IQ for our truck and equipment daily, weekly, and monthly checks, along with documentation of controlled substances has been a very positive experience. We are looking forward to getting the inventory module implementation completed and integrated with our current financial software.
- We began using Operative IQ to transition from paper controlled substance tracking to electronic
- Their system was very user friendly, covered all of our needs and more, and was extremely inexpensive - great "bang for the buck"
- When implementing the inventory module, questionnaires, and creating reports, their technical support staff (along with my sales rep) were outstanding and very eager to help
- Turnaround was very fast and generally spot on with any technical question you can throw at them
- The Asset and Fleet management has made tracking our preventative maintenance (and any other maintenance) a much easier process with a "one stop shop" approach to all of our assets
- We are also in the process of completing our automated asset maintenance recording of our bunker gear cleaning (firefighter cancer prevention)
- They also have the ability to work with other vendors to provide either an API interface or a custom integration if you have an existing system you will still be utilizing
- The two major cons to this product - inventory value and documentation
- The inventory value piece will not be a replacement for any organization that is tracking FIFO or LIFO
- It should work great for weighted average cost (WAC)
- For documentation, the self implementer would have a much easier time of some type if a manual was available to help explain how some of the areas functioned and setting up devices
Why they chose it
"We are not switching from an alternative product, we will be using in conjunction with our financial software. Operative IQ will allow us better tracking (mainly for expiration dates of products that our financial software is not capable of doing) and ordering. We are also implementing RFID technology and looking forward to the future of utilizing "vending machines" technology that Operative IQ already has developed."

A Sweet Suite of Operations Management Software
The company has been great to work with. They have excellent support, invest in software development, and have a stable platform that is straightforward to implement.
- Operative IQ has several useful modules that we use in our everyday operations and has helped mature our fire agency
- The narcotics tracking module is straightforward and helped us go from paper to electronic narc tracking
- We use the purchasing and inventory modules extensively for tracking EMS supplies, which has vastly streamlined our operation and cut down on expired supply inventory
- We also use the inventory and asset management modules to inventory our vehicles and station supplies
- The ticketing platform is straightforward and works well for tracking work orders for various departments, such as facilities and IT
- The checksheet application used by crews to verify inventories can be somewhat cumbersome to set up for vehicle inventories
- However, I've seen the redesign of this area that Operative IQ is releasing in 2022, so Operative IQ's ongoing software development is a plus

Operative IQ in Smaller Size EMS Agency
We do not use the full capacity of inventory management due to our scale and scope of necessities, so it is kind of a clunky system for performing daily checks and tracking fleet status with simple reporting. I see the utility in the ordering, requesting, and total management perspectives and realize this system would work well for a full inventory management system. So the issue is with my organizational internal processes and workflows more than OPIQ, but at the base level it is a little clunky to operate. When will Frontline be avaialbe? That will streamline most of our issues and personnel adoptions woes. Thanks.
It creates a unified platform for fleet and inventory management with ability to create questionnaires on specific periodicities to meet PM and inspection requirements
- Checksheet utility is not APP based and frustrating to use from a mobile device
- Expiration Date input is finicky at best for items when selecting them from calendar vs hand typing all dates
- No "mouse scroll" possibilities from touchpad computer devices
- Inconsistent reporting parameters from actual Checksheet to report module that does not seem to be a report design issue as the items are sporadic
- Issues with offline use of Checksheet and then sending data packets over once wireless connectivity is restored creating "missed checks" in status reports
Why they chose it
"I adopted this product from my predecessors decisions and am not fully aware or all other options explored, but I do know there was an appeal from all the awards and high praise from conferences and other pitches about 3-5 years back."

Does it all!
Repairs would often go without being repaired due to communication breakdown. Now with Service Desk when something is written up for repair the entire department can see that it has been written up as well as track the progress of the repair. This prevents problems from falling through the cracks and becoming worse later.
- Complete inventory control, from integrated suppliers, ordering from PO, backorder tracking, and all the other features that make a just in time inventory possible
- Saves a great deal of money in dead stock and expirations
- Also the fleet maintenance module makes keeping track of preventative maintenance and repair costs a breeze
The app is not as user friendly as the web version; however, I have seen some of the things the upcoming version will have, and I am excited because it is going to alleviate those few issues
Why they chose it
"This software was designed with what we do in mind. In order to get all this anywhere else I would have to purchase several different brands of software that may or may not integrate with one another."

Experience with setup, deployment and continued use
This system makes it much easier to keep track of all aspects of our narcotics from delivery administration, expiration dates and audits. If some of the processes could be a little more streamlined or customizable like some of the other systems this would be perfect.
- The ability to track all aspects of our narcotics is very beneficial to our department due to the high volume we manage
- The system makes the process of tracking anything very easy
- Some of the processes are "clunky" or redundant
- Not being able to set up or customize some of the features makes it difficult since all departments track narcotics in different ways
- This makes it difficult for departments to teach existing staff that were used to and have used the current system for a long period of time
- Not being able to set up more than 1 email address for when an incident report has been done makes things difficult for supervisors to track there employees
- It is also difficult that an administrator is not able to recall/delete something that has been submitted in error
- For narcotics this can be very beneficial for tracking

Great Product!
With Operative IQ we are able to analyze data and see overall trends that are occurring. The asset software makes it easy to keep up with operating expenses of assets to help determine end of life. We also are able to maintain accurate and up to date data of all of our narcotics and ensure proper control and custody.
- One stop product that allows you to take control of your inventory, assets, vehicles and narcotics all under one platform
- Allows you access to multiple reports to analyze data for future business decisions
- It would be nice to have preexisting integration into the large EPCR vendors to tie supplies narcotics and assets to incidents
- Overall very little to dislike about OpIQ

Operative IQ, the magical partner.
Operative IQ is a great system for any chief officer, it organized all of our different responsibility and sub department (fleet, EMS, Fire equipment) it also helps to evaluated producibility on restocking and/ or PO . As an user, it gives you a one stop shop for multiple request, ordering and service request to the logistics department on any organization.
- Operative IQ is a system that could be used for many different applications and to help many needs of any fire rescue department for tracking equipment, vehicles and narcotics to mention a few
- Lastly is has become the to go for all fire rescue purchased orders and restoking inventory
- The system could be more user friendly, its hard to understand why the set up of different applications has to be done in different menu
- (operation and administration menu) Also I would like to see different level of PO approval base on rank structure and not money totals

Game Changer
Great product, great support team.
- OperativeIQ is a game changer for our logistics/supply chain management
- Their platform provides an intuitive user experience along with a robust admin portal
- Also the cradle to grave tracking of controlled substances is phenomenal
- In 4-years of running their system to track our controlled substances we have never lost a single unit
The UI works but if i was to nit-pick I'd like to see an updated modern user interface

Excellent narcotic and inventory management software
Verified reviewer
- Operative IQ has a thorough and effective tracking mechanism for managing narcotics from original receipt to end user use and destruction
- It provides a clear bread crumb trail for each transaction that every vial goes through
- While the asset and inventory tracking is a valuable part of the software, the RFID component is just beginning to develop
- I look forward to seeing this component of the software and the hardware that supports it mature over the next couple of years

Excellent product for the money!
I feel like it has given us a better understanding of how much we are spending and helps track maintenance costs much better.
- This software does give lots of features that allow you to track all aspects of your system
- We use Inventory, Fleet, Service desk, and Narcotics
- It is really just a few minor things
- I sometimes feel it allows you to do too much which can really lead to some outlandish settings
- But that is mainly on the individual setting it up
