Top software for design collaboration
Revit is an exceptional software that allows you to design and analyze multiple trades in your modeling efforts for the projects. Even though there are multiple Bentley software, Revit still manages to be the top choice of engineers when it comes to collaborating with each other and delivering a digital product. Its been tricky to incorporate Site Civil/ Land development features into the Revit model and that is where Revit needs to upgrade itself and fill the gap that currently exists.
Collaboration of the different trades such as electrical, mechanical, structural, & fire protection etc is the best feature that Revit can offer
- Collaboration with Site Civil is still something that Revit lacks today
- Site Civil uses Civil3D as their main go-to software and interoperability between Civil3d and Revit is something that doesn’t work well
- You have to find a work around to make it work
- Using NWC exports, or IFC exports works but does not carry all the information

Small firm transitioning to Revit
It has been a very positive experience, having a 3d model to reference and locate issues in real time has been paramount
coordination between trades/consultants, being able to see issues before they arrive in the field
Automatic wall joins, sometimes Revit does thing that are not options in the real world and they make it hard to override
Switched From
the entire industry had switched already and we were behind.

Best software for architectural design and modeling
Before move on to this software, I had to use several software's cocomplete a design. Now I only need revit
- My favorite and most using software for architectural designs
- This facilitate to model the floor plans, elevations, 3d views and also renderings in a same time
- I love this thin very much and no any unsatisfied tings

Powerful Tool for Design and Collaboration
Overall, my experience with Revit has been excellent. It’s a complete tool for design and project collaboration, and it really helps me work more efficiently. It’s definitely worth the investment for anyone working in architecture, engineering, or construction.
- I really like how Revit makes project design and collaboration so much easier
- The 3D modeling tools are powerful, and it’s great that changes update everywhere automatically
- It saves a lot of time and reduces mistakes
The only downside is that it can feel heavy on the computer and takes time to fully learn, but once you get used to it, it’s worth it

Needed more detailed and integrated 3D design software.

Revit streamlines design. Coming from CAD to Revit has been like night and day. Revit lets you design 3 dimensionally.
- Collaboration, design tools, plug in abilities
- Nothing really it simplifies design for me personally
Switched From
Revit’s 3D modeling capabilities far outweigh AutoCAD 3D

Revit is still #1 for creating coordinated construction documents
I use Revit daily, I'm a big fan for sure.
- Revit is the industry standard
- For its original purpose, creating a Coordinated Drawing Set, I have not seen a better platform
- It's not an intuitive program
- If you haven't learned the 'language' or Revit you can easily feel lost/frustrated

Great software, poor design choices
A potent base software that must be customized to be optimal because the bare version ain't cutting it
It's an easy to learn platform with amazing capabilities for coworking on modeling a building (coordination is much better than autocad)
Lots of basic functionnalities that should be a given are really lacking (a real dark mode for instance or the ability to link drafting views)

I was asked to work on revit by my new employer

Big fan of Revit
I work for a technology design consultant, which is usually the last one in construction sharing space with other disciplines - Revit make that so much easier thna in the past.
- Massive improvement over CAD
- 3/D Clash detection feature
- Some confusion in learning availability of family choices

Revit is worth the time to learn to use
I am a decades long AutoCad user, switched to Revit in the last few years. The switch over was fairly simple. Working with models already created to manipulate them is quite intuitive, creating stairs, roofs and schedules is challenging.
The ease at which a building design can be changed, multiple ideas and concepts can be explored
- There are some simple tasks in AutoCad that are made much more difficult in Revit
- The ability to create tables by just adding the data yourself is very difficult
- Schedules in general are tricky to set up
Switched From
My firm switched over to Revit to keep up with the industry, and for ease of use.

Autodesk Revit User Review
I have been working with Revit for 9 years and it is a game changer comparing to other BIM softwares. It is straight forward and easy to use.
- Being able to work in both 2d and 3d simultaneously is what I like the most about revit
- I also like working on a shared file in the office which helps deliver projects faster
- That the sorting/grouping when scheduling is limited which causes varies in some fields
- This means taking the schedule to excel and filling in missing information manually
