Easy platform to build a Learning Center
I found the Rockstar Platform easy for me as an admin to build out engaging eLearning courses with the many options available (games, microlearning, assets, exams, SCORM, Rehearsal, etc). I also appreciated the stellar customer service when I was learning the platform and the continued best-in-class customer service when I have a problem. It was also easy to implement using this platform company wide. I have received all positive comments from our learners. I believe this platform is worth the investment we made.
- How easy it is to use plus the ability to use AI to create micro learnings for an admin
- It was also easy to get learners use to navigating and using the platform for their own personal learning
- Though it is easy to do, it takes a while to get Open Sesame courses into the Rockstar Platform
- It should be a LOT easier
- Not being able to designate learning hours or whether a course is mandatory or voluntary for courses I make so that I can track how many hours a team member has spent on voluntary learning
Why they chose it
"Because [sensitive content hidden] said that elb Learning wants to be our partner, not our vendor. Plus the platform had all the requirements I needed: video practice, gamification, AI to help build, reporting, ease of use."

The Rockstar Learning Platform average, at best. Good if you want simple.
A good experience overall. They had the best pricing, but lack in regular LMS features. They're a lower-end LMS compared to the big players and modern LMS standards. I've implemented multiple LMS's for various orgs. This one ranks low for features, which is good if you want simple. Excellent customer support and sales. Will work with you to make it work.
- Ease of use, great customer service
- Easy to implement, best pricing per user for over 100k users
- Lack of mainstream features and simple LMS functions
- Didn't easily integrate with other software without custom API development
Switched From
Wasn't called "custombooks" but they were listed here, it was a custom-built LMS. A real rip-off. They spent over $700k and had little to nothing to show for it except broken promises.
Why they chose it
"Per user costs for over 100k users. Ease of use. Strong customer support."

Rockstar is not a replacement for TREK
I like the platform of TREK so much more where the instructor/trainer had to "approve" all student completions, that way you knew their answers and you knew they completed it, or you could reject it if they had too many wrong so that they had to redo it. In Rockstar they just pass even if they get some wrong because they can change certain answers over and over versus with TREK they went to the instructor so we knew what they got wrong and could talk with them or touch base with that certain aspect again with the trainee. Usually if something is updated or improved after discontinuing a previous version it is an actual improvement with some minor details that are actually not "improved" but in this case with Rockstar it is completely backwards movement instead of getting better. Yes I know the workarounds for all of this is running reports, or changing the way you create certain modules/courses, and you can see their progress in charts and such but to emphasize the need for some to know what they are getting wrong when they get it wrong is crucial sometimes so we do not have to later go in and run a report or check in on their progress with frustrating reports you cannot trust. I personally like to see and approve things as they go so they do not from bad habits or have a wrong understanding of something they shouldn't because it lets them put in a wrong answer.
- The ease of creating modules and courses is pretty user friendly, as well as adding new users
- the look and feel of it is visually appealing
- Coming from TREK to Rockstar is not user friendly in an instructor POV
- You literally have to run reports (which are not accurate, and sometimes never get sent and you have to repeatedly request them) or sign in under the actual user to verify completion
- The pages take a while to fully load if they load, some days you just get frustrated and don't get anything done because you are waiting and waiting
- The percentage of completions when running reports vs the dashboard vs clicking into a course is not accurate on the same user, very frustrating because even if they are 100% complete if you run a report it will say it is not 100% on the report or if you click into the course, they all vary

because you discontinued it unfortunately!

Making my job easier!!!
I use the software to train a lot of employees in a variety of positions. I love how user friendly it is not only for the ones learning, but also for those creating the learning material.
Coming from another training software before, I love how easy it is to create content and link it into a learning tree
- What I wish would improve would be how reports are generated
- I just wish it was a little more put together and not an Excell spreadsheet

I believe our company made the switch due to pricing and ease of use for creation.

Building a Holistic L&D Strategy with RLP
As a company that has never had learning strategy before, RLP greatly enhanced our ability to created quality learning quickly and monitor company-wide adoption with ease.
- It is extremely user friendly for learners and learning developers
- It also provided the most robust set of delivery options for the price
It would be nice to have some additional customization when using the microbuilder-- along the lines of Articulate Rise
Switched From
It was expensive, never deployed correctly, and impossible to use.

Rockstar Learning
The Rockstar Learning Platform has been easy to create courses and quickly train on how to use the system because of the easy to follow layout.
The Rockstar Learning Platform is easy to create courses and provide a good learning experience for trainees
- The Rockstar Learning Platform reports are not customizable
- The reports do not provide as much detailed information that I would like to provide to the leadership teams
Switched From
Alchemy is more of a premade video LMS with no option to upload documents.
Why they chose it
"I choose the Rockstar Learning Platform because of all the future training platforms like using a QR code or the AI feature."

Rockstar Learning is more powerful than it looks
Excellent, I manage multiple communities on the platform and I've been able to meet most client requirements with the software. They offer a free version that allows you to build a fully working proof of concept before paying anything. Customer success is always responsive.
- Lots of flexibility to execute different learning models, great video functionality, cool tools to source content from users and socialize it
- And they offer a fully free version that helps us build prototypes for customers
Would like ad hoc reporting and some more advanced enrollment capabilities, but know they are coming soon
Why they chose it
"Flexibility, great free version for prototyping before buying, eLearning Brothers team is great to work with."

Good But Needs Updates
Overall, the experience has been positive. I am just stymied as the portal administrator for Rockstar in that I cannot organize content in the manner that my manager wants me to. I have been given examples of other sites and the manner in which that site's content is managed, but it seems content cannot be organized on individual pages with thumbnails to identify the content. The page would have a heading, the learner would click onto the content thumbnail, and info about the content and access to the content would be granted to the learner.
- 1
- Ease of use 2
- Ability to upload and organize content 3
- Ability to manage student registration to Rockstar portal and in courses and modules 4
- Customer service
- Not able to organize content on sperate pages under a common heading with course and module thumbnails
- Some LMS portals allow for the organization of course material under designated headings
- In Rockstar, the content repository is the only way to organize LMS course and module content

Intuitive system
Overall, my experience is good. Reporting features have improved, but are still not where I would like them to be.
- I like that it is intuitive to use
- As someone who is not overly familiar with various LMS systems, I am usually able to figure out what I need to do fairly quickly
- The reports
- There is a lot to be desired and it would be nice to have a really easy to read report that I could pull for each employee which includes all courses and lessons as well as what date the course was completed
- Also, when I add learner activities, I still don't know where to look up the short answer responses
- Also, a few of my modules get stuck- sometimes, but not always
- I don't know if that is due to the internet connection, the module itself, or the user
- I haven't been able to figure it out

Learning to be an Rockstar employee!
I have been using this tool to develop staff, and it is important to follow up with the employee to discuss what they have learned. Following up is a great way to ensure they understand the lesson and its underlying purpose.
- It's easy to navigate, and I enjoy the topics to learn
- I found that each module offered something I could use to develop employees, aligning with our Performance reviews
- If an employee was having performance issues, I could find resources to help them address their struggles
- Excellent tool and great for comprehension
- Assigning modules or lessons, I wish there was a way to notify via email if the employee did not complete the assignment on time, rather than having to log in and check where they are with their completion
- It would help streamline things when you have numerous employees
