OUtstanding
Great overall experience. Prior to CompXL we had a very labor intensive process using excel files that would be altered by users causing significant administration issues. CompXL provided a framework and functionality to control the data and user interface eliminating the ability for users to to alter sheets.

- We use excel to a great extent and CompXL allows to leverage excel to manage our compensation information and processes in a very effective customized solution for compensation management

User friendly Design
Easy to use and maneuver through the system. We use the app for many different features and I find it easy to find what I am looking for.

Salary.com is a great tool for HR when deciding competitive salaries!
Salary.com that I can access myself, wonderful. The sales team who tries to sell you the compensation software they have-bad experience.
- It is very transparent on what qualifications fall under which job titles and salaries
- I like all the probing questions it asks to get you the most accurate data such as industry, job title, and location
- It is very easy to use
- The sales team is very pushy and misleading when trying to get you to set up a demo of their paid HR software for salary benchmarking
- Their original call in which they cold called me, they made it sound like they wanted to set up a 15 minute call to ask me questions/ take a survey about compensation for my employees to better build their listed salaries on their website
- Then, once I agreed to the call, I was emailed a link to a zoom meeting for a product demo
- I asked if I was mistaken what it was about and they said oh no we do need your input but also want to show you the paid version of our site
- During the meeting they asked me no questions and just tried to sell me a software/show me how to use their paid software

Some of the data sets had to be manually update because of a newer data in the market which can be tiresome and might contain errors

Pretty good and mostly accurate. I enjoy looking there for information and know its mostly accurate,

- There were occassionally something that was inaccurate but mostly correct on benchmarks

- This is my second compensation year using CompXL
- After the initial year of implementation, the software cut down my year-end compensation process drastically
- In previous years, I would be at the office until 10pm every night for weeks on end and would be meticulously searching for file linkage errors and missed updates
- The worst part about distributing Excel files to each of your department leaders individually is how difficult it is to keep track of minor tweaks and adjustments made throughout the inevitable iterations of the compensation process
- The software is completely customized to my own uniquely complicated incentive compensation structure at my firm, which I would not be able to find anywhere else to this great of detail
- My biggest qualms with the software in the first year was the lack of reporting/filtering capabilities
- They have updated that this year and the reporting functionality is literally invaluable
- While it might take a less tech-savvy person a while to get the hang of the configuration of reports, for someone like me (who can manipulate excel from an intermediate to advanced level), the new reports allow me the perfect amount of autonomy to configure as many complex reports as I'd like
- My CEO requires 30+ reports a year, so semi-automating this process was crucial
- This has made my life so much easier that the biggest issue is me being LESS meticulous and detail-oriented because I trust the program more
- The most obnoxious part is the uploading of employee data since I generally have many small, one-off adjustments to make that add up
- You have to import it instead of tweaking it within the system
- The obvious worst part about CompXL is the user interface, which is
- very excel-like
- This isn't going to be like logging into ADP, or Ultipro, or SuccessFactors to do your compensation process
- But what it lacks in the modern widget-designed HRIS, it makes up in functionality
- You can do a LOT more in this program than you can in any of those programs, because you are basically only limited to the limitations of Excel--which are few

The PDF output when there are multiple scopes or a hybrid position with market data isn't as clean as the web interface
