Photoshop is the GOAT
Overall this is my go-to for graphic design and all things design really. It integrates with all adobe products seamlessly and makes it easy to go from rough idea to fully finished project.
- Photoshop is extremely easy to use for entry level graphic designers
- There are so many compatible add-ons and features that make your graphics look top-notch
- The new update for photoshop takes a little getting used to as it has added guidelines and a slew of other things including generative AI
- Its annoying when companies update things in ways the community never asked for

Essential part of any designer's toolkit
I've used Photoshop for 20+ years, primarily for print and publication design in both design, photo editing/correction and production environments. I've deployed it to teams and trained users on it. For anyone jumping into it for the first time, do lots of tutorials online, not just on creating but also setting up Photoshop for the best workflow - this is definitely a program you will learn by using.
- Photoshop is an essential part of any designer's toolkit
- It's a household name, and everyone has an idea of what it does
- But the further you delve into it, the more productivity and time-saving tools you discover, and that is where you really start finding value in it as a busy designer
- Photoshop does have a steep learning curve and can be quite overwhelming to new users
- Fortunately, this is offset by the number of tutorials, both free and paid, available online
- The key for any new user is finding the workspace that suits you—having the right tools showing will make your life a lot easier
Why they chose it
"Photoshop has the seniority - it's been around 30+ years and consistently improves and handles the jobs I need it to."

Couldn't do what I do without it
I use adobe photo shop on a daily basis for everything from photo editing to advertisement creation.
- I love the ease of the software
- I also love all of the tutorials not only online user post but adobe directly offers
- There is nothing I do not love about this

Sets the standard for graphics technologies
Photoshop has upgraded itself with cutting edge technology for as long as I've used it. Beginning in the late 90's when it was fledgling and things moved on CDs to the new AI features today, Photoshop has brought the best and brought it fast enough to be edgy.
- Flexibility: Tools; Exports; Workspaces
- The Tool set provides functionality for everything I have ever wanted to do
- The multiple tool sets curled inside a primary icon for the set keep the Tools panel at a reasonable size while creating extensibility
- Additionally - and I always do this because Paint Bucket is something I use quite often - you can edit the Tools in the panel
- So personalized configuration here is an excellent feature
- Exports: I work with a variety of formats: ebooks; hardcopy; social media; and PhotoShop gives me RGB for digital; CMYK for print
- Print often requires higher densities
- I can do that, too
- Workspaces: I can change my workspaces around in case I need to work on multiple images at the same time
- And it links to Adobe Stock for Images; connects to Bridge, InDesign and is miw being updated with sophisticated AI tools, for example, seamlessly blending new images into existing backgrounds
- The order of the Tools panel
- I always think of Photoshop as a production tool and maybe the out-of-the box Tools panel contents are set up for the more creative folk

Powerful tool for creatives
Adobe Photoshop has a really steep learning curve, but once you get used to its tools and develop your own work style and macros it is by far the most efficient and powerful tool for not only photo editing but also creative work.
Large Library of tools Extensive customization options Great for creatives, not only photo editing New AI additions have great potential
Steep learning curve Difficult to find resources for specific use cases No great explanations on Adobe's website AI is currently rough around the edges

It is not as powerful as adobe Photoshop, new features take much longer to roll out due to the open source nature of the product. One big advantage is that it is free to use.

Adobe Photoshop, a tool for all graphic styles
My overall experience with adobe Photoshop is good. I have experienced so many updates and changes that improve quality of life. It's why I keep on subscribing.
I like the AI features and tools that allow me to generate images with precision and more control than other AI image generation tools do not allow
- I dislike that sometimes the new features are not always easy to find or highlighted in someway
- I dislike that there no real time collaboration features

Needed more power and functionality and certain file formats were not able to be opened.

The Gold Standard in design
I learned Photoshop years ago and I can vouch for it. Adobe have been a little shady with content ownership but outside that, I've earned a good chunk of my living from this software.
- The layer system is an excellent way to work
- I can choose to work in destructive and non-destructive methods and achieve the same results
- Plus those backup saves have saved my behind in many a pinch
- The files tend to get bulky really fast and those aren't the best to work with if you have a PC with limited resources
- Mine is no slouch but we still have issues from time to time

Photoshop was just a better software at the time. Corel has improved alot but I'm already invested.

- I love the ease of use and the ability to add plug-ins completely to the app without the need of any external program
- I also love how it handles bringing 3D objects into its environment
I don’t like that it will crash a lot based the amount of other programs open or the what kind of computer you have

I loved everything that photoshop could offer that sketchbook could not. It allowed me to experiment more with my work.

Photoshop, challenging but worth it
There is SO much you can do with photoshop, to create, edit and expand your images. It is a really good tool to have.
- I love the new AI generate feature, it is easy to generate new backgrounds and images
- It can be a little challenging but there are tutorials to help
It can be a little challenging if you're new to using photoshop, but tutorials help and they walk you step by step in the process
Switched From
Lightroom is easy to use and easier to learn than Photoshop, however Photoshop offers more to edit in creating, editing and designing.
