- It's easy to use, intuitive, and the customer support is outstanding
- I've occasionally contacted them with feature suggestions and they usually end up incorporating those suggestions - or they might show me how I missed something that accomplishes the same thing
- The product works as advertised and I have no regrets
- It had a little bit of a learning curve but I had nothing to compare it to
- I now find it intuitive, so it's hard to say
- Customer support is awesome, though, and they also have videos you can watch that explain most of the problems and issues I experienced along the way

Solid All-in-One Legal Management System with Room for Improvement
Overall, CosmoLex is a good, dependable platform for managing a law firm’s operations and trust accounting. It covers most of the essentials well and keeps things organized, but it could benefit from additional functionality and performance improvements. Still, it remains a strong choice for small and mid-sized firms.
- CosmoLex provides a solid all-in-one solution for legal accounting and practice management
- It keeps billing, trust accounting, and case management in one place, which helps streamline workflows and reduce the need for multiple platforms
- Overall, it’s reliable and user-friendly once you get used to it
- Some functions are missing or could be improved
- There’s no automatic stop for work when a client’s trust balance reaches zero, which would be very useful
- The system can also be a bit slow at times
- Support is generally helpful, but they haven’t implemented a few feature requests we’ve submitted

Easy and Complete Legal Accounting Software.
I am collecting fees and costs more easily and without having to see the client or talk to them on the phone. They can pay directly through their invoice or reminder emails sent by the program. Same for the trust retainer. Links are easily sent to clients to deposit directly to trust. The program makes the accounting entries for you on in the general ledger and the bank accounts.
- It does both front and back office capabilities
- It is easy to access everything about a client
- All time, billing and any other information needing to be entered is in one software application
- No need to have Quick Books and some other legal software
- Invoicing is easy to facilitate and clients can pay through links on the invoices
- This program interacts with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google, LawPay and many others
- There are some reporting functions that are not yet available
- This program still does not have a function for collecting Judgments on behalf of clients

Software with potential but execution too often poor
Sometimes good, often quite frustrating. Customer service can feel like they are more interested in "closing the ticket" than solving your problem.
- Integration with accounting - this is why I have stuck with Cosmolex
- Invoicing used to be good but has gotten more difficult with recent updates
- Clumsy, unintuitive interface that got worse with recent update

Great All in One Solution
Both lawyers & support staff are very satisfied with the switch to CosmoLex.
- Onboarding/migration process was quite smooth; great team to work with
- Easy to use all aspects of firm and trust accounting, quarterly reporting, Love the integration with Microsoft 365; getting closer to becoming 'paperless'
- Can't wait to get the client portal in full use
- The Live Support portal is the best I've ever used
- They usually have the answer but if not the matter is immediately escalated and responded to
- A bit of a learning curve moving from previous software
- Don't switch during a busy period
- Would like to see a client ledger which incorporates both trust and general expense entries on single page

Liars-Go Elsewhere
Frustrating. The salesman told us that clients could upload documents into a client portal. NOPE! Not a live function yet. We paid to have assistance with moving from prior system. WASTE of money. We did all the work, and what they did for us had to be redone.

- NextGen is not ready to be deployed
- It is very glitchy
- ONE example, timesheets "clear out" already entered data
- Known issue for over 6 months
- No fix
- Makes time entry annoying because you often have to double enter information before it "takes"
- Live Support Chat--HA
- Hasn't been available "live" in months
- To get assistance, you ask for live support, they email you DAYS later to schedule an appointment
- Often, the "trainer" has no idea what you need or how to accomplish the task
- One example: we needed to print an invoice for our contingency fee clients to use as evidence in court on our fee petition

Horrific Software
Horrific and do not recommend it. The customer service is designed to waste your time. It is about you having enough time to switch to another software.
The initial sales pitch is great but once they have you, zero customer service and prices keep skyrocketing

2 Years Wasted
Cosmolex ended up being a major disappointment. Too many of the supposedly great features turned out to be practically useless. Clients can only upload one document at a time and then only if the name is 64 or less characters. Clients can only download one document at a time. The API is closed so automation is much more difficult and expensive. Email communications cannot be shared through the portal. The platform whereby custom invoices are created/modified is archaic and difficult to use.

The switch was made to for cloud access, internal accounting, to better serve clients and to facilitate process automation. The only benefit was the cloud access which was stifled by the poor design.

Stay away.... Terrible customer service
Been with Cosmolex since 2017/2018.... While for years I raved about the product, its been going downhill since 2021. All they do is increase prices without generating more value to consumer. Final straw for me was when they locked me out for alleged billing errors, even though from my end they were collecting money from me every month. They refused to address the issue until I paid first. Stay away from them and their unethical practices.

Save yourself a headache
I regret migrating to this software. not happy with the product, there's a lot of limitations.
- easy to use
- but i do not recommend it, there's a lot of limitations
- -Does not proportionally apply payments to fees, taxes, disbursements which is a serious problem
- Cosmolex priorities the taxes and hard cost
- So if invoice balance are written off, taxes are overpaid which is not compliant to Canadian tax act and lawyers are underpaid
- -The system doesn’t have a report for client introducing lawyer, which is common as most firms pay out referral fees
- -Payments for multiple clients is also limited -Users who have timekeeper restrictions are unable to access reports
- PC Law is an old system but had this feature
- Cosmolex is supposed to be a more sophisticated software
- So, 1 person is responsible for generating reports to lawyers
- -Having reports downloaded as documents is inefficient
- Instead of double-clicking the numbers on the report and the transaction and the transaction opens up, you’ll need to do more steps and find the transaction itself if editing is required
- QuickBooks is cloud base and it has this feature
