Very effective scraping

Verified reviewer

What they liked
  • The information that I was scraping was very tricky for similar products to accurately scrape
  • I was very pleased to find out that Docparser gave me the control to scrape my PDFs in unique ways to get as much of the information off as possible
  • It was easy to use and absolute perfect for what I needed it for
Room for improvement
  • Because I was running this daily I had a lot of documents with the same name in my previous run files
  • I wish there was a way to filter/rename/sort the previously run files to keep them more organized
Switched From

Octoparse was not able to extract the same data that DocParser was able to scrape and save.

Not for Swedish langue

I've email there support, i did receive additional funds for a test, but no answer what so ever. They say that one should email there support for additional help and improvement, but no answer, on several emails. (I did tried them for a year or two, still no changes.) I've bought a month for test... and still no answers/support.

What they liked
  • + The pricing model + The feature rich extraction, for all data
Room for improvement
  • - No support for Swedish - No support org-nr (if VAD ID is not present
  • ) - No support for full lenght dates (in Swedish) like "1 Oktober 2018" - No support for swedish payment methods like PG or PG - Doesn't handle "improved" readable numbers with space, eg invoice nr "123 456 476"

Docparser saves us hours every month

We use Docparser for parsing and extracting data from supplier PDF invoices, we process over 2,500 per month and using Docparser saves us hours every week. All data is extracted extremely accurately and ends up in a Google Sheet.

What they liked
  • Docparser is super easy to extract data from documents, their rule wizard is simple to use
  • It links up very easily with Zapier and PowerAutomate
  • They have good data retention and features like SSO and 2FA
Room for improvement
  • To be honest I can't really think of anything
  • Thought for 10 minutes and still can't come up with anything

“Solid and Reliable Document Parsing, But Pricey”

Overall, Docparser has been a solid tool that does its job well. It’s not flashy, but it delivers consistent results and has definitely saved us time. I’d like to see slightly better support interactions and more flexible pricing, but the core product is strong.

What they liked
  • Docparser does exactly what it promises—reliable document parsing and data extraction with very little hassle
  • Once the parsing rules are set up, the automation saves a ton of time and removes manual entry errors
  • It’s accurate, stable, and integrates well with workflows
Room for improvement
  • The pricing feels a little steep for what it is, especially for smaller businesses
  • Support has been fine but not very personable—responses are short and to the point
  • That may just be the nature of their business, but it sometimes feels a bit dry

Docparser is the best!

Verified reviewer

What they liked

I love that it can handle 1000's of PDF documents and turn it into an Excel file that I can then load into my accounting software and analyze in minutes

Room for improvement
  • I think paying for the setup is the way to go since its difficult to understand some of the parsing rules
  • It is more worth the money to pay for the setup intially

It’s Thumbs Up

It’s been a great tool for my organization and regularly pays for itself in the time and effort it saves our team.

What they liked
  • It just workers without a lot of figuring out
  • The customer support is also outstanding for the rare times I do have questions
Room for improvement

The parsing rules take a little getting use to but I don’t know how they could be made to work any better

My overall experience with Docparser has been amazing!

My overall experience with Docparser has been amazing. I used it to process a large bundle of documents that had information scattered everywhere, and it made organizing so much easier. I was able to map out fields, fine-tune the selection areas, and edit them to get exactly what I needed. I’m still learning the tool, but I’m excited to see how much more I can do with it. It’s incredibly valuable for handling invoices and keeping everything structured.

What they liked
  • Amazing app, backed by an even better team
  • The developers truly care about the product and its users — it’s not just a cash grab
  • Whenever I needed help, support was quick, friendly, and effective
  • You can tell they want this app to succeed and deliver real value
  • Give it a try — you won’t be disappointed
Room for improvement
  • The app can be a little glitchy at times, but you can clearly see consistent improvements
  • The team actively listens to feedback, takes suggestions seriously, and helps troubleshoot quickly
  • The con is only that they devs only have so much time in the day to make this thing rock even more then it already does

I use the software to scan pdf invoices & orders for a retail gift store and create inventory lists.

time savings. I'm trying to bring a store that was operated for 25 years without an inventory system into a modern age.

What they liked
  • I like being able to have multiple document templates as each vendor tends to have their own "take" on what is useful to include in an invoice or order and formatting can vary a great deal
  • Therefore, my templates are not based on vendor name - they are based on the data found in the invoices
  • Example file names: "line-qty-units-isbn13-desc-discount-level-ext-dollar" or "line-qty-desc-unit-ext-float" Vendors aren't always consistent from invoice to invoice
  • They may be using software that resizes table columns to fit the text, which means you have to adjust your table format slightly each time to ensure the parsing is correct
  • That's easy to do
  • The forums and Q&A resources are usually helpful and I've found them responsive to email
Room for improvement
  • 1
  • The UI for making changes to the template
  • I hate the popup box routine at the end of making a change
  • It takes a lot of mouse clicks
  • 2
  • I've never gotten the subtemplates to work
  • (see note above about vendor formats being inconsistent
  • ) Subtemplates "supposedly" take care of minor variations and can be grouped according to a vendor name
  • Maybe this works for other customers, as it is a great idea
  • 3
  • There are a lot of little tweaks to be made that aren't obvious to improve character recognition
  • Why not start with the highest level of quality (ie
  • turn on OCR) at the start
  • If that makes file size a problem for storage or performance when processing a lot of files at once, walk people through how to "downgrade" to an acceptable level or establish a recommended number of files not to exceed some size limit
  • For example, during a trial scan there were no extra spaces or funky characters in the document but then I figured out about half of the "6s" had been transformed to "8s" - not terribly helpful
  • I want to be able to trust the result rather than having to proof hundreds of line items
  • 4
  • Given the inconsistencies I have with the input data sources, I don't think I'll be able to automate the parsing tasks - such as grabbing attachments from email automatically
  • Again, I have a small business, so I'm OK with the workaround
