About ServiceBox

ServiceBox is an integrated cloud-based solution for commercial and residential service-based businesses such as plumbers, HVAC repairmen, locksmiths, cleaning services and more. It offers work orders and maintenance management tools that allow users to synchronize individual work orders with job sites. When a job is finished, ServiceBox generates a report to deliver to the customer’s email. Service technicians can create quotes from anywhere on mobile devices and tablets, which can then be converted into work orders. The scheduling application features a drag-and-drop tool for updating calendars in real time. Users can create invoices based on the work order and bill the customer on site. ServiceBox integrates with third-party applications such as QuickBooks and Sage 50. The solution allows users to populate timesheets automatically for each work site and technicians can log their hours and give real-time job reports that ties directly into the geo-locating feature. ServiceBox provides customer support via email and phone.

Great software from a Canadian Company

Overall great software to use given that we use Sage50 Canada. Would recommend, especially if you are using mostly on computer.

What they liked
  • The biggest pro for us is they fully integrate with Sage 50 Canada
  • No other software on the market does it
  • The also have a very responsive development team that is helpful when there's issues
  • It's also helped streamline our operations from paper to electronic
  • Relatively flexible software to adapt to individual business needs
  • They are also priced really competitively and they've also grandfathered us as we've been with them a long time
  • Very easy and intuitive to use for the most part
  • It's made quoting customers so much easier than what we dealt with in the past
Room for improvement
  • The app is a bit tedious to use
  • When you click open a work order, you have to wait til it loads a webpage
  • It's not super seamless for those who are using it on the phone
  • No real issues on the computer
  • Their servers will slow down and go down occasionally

"I searched for 6 months and went on numerous calls. Service box was the only app that seamlessly integrates with Sage 50. We've even had cold calls of other companies since then and I turn them away immediately as there's no Sage 50 integration,"

Good program with a few drawbacks

It's met our needs in that it allows us to have a live database that our technicians and our office can see at the same time so that we all have the information that we need.

What they liked
  • I like that the program allows us to keep records of our customers and their equipment all in one place
  • It simplifies and streamlines our service department and allows us to be more on top of sending out quotes to customers
Room for improvement
  • It is slightly limited on the customization side of things, such as how invoices and quotes are formatted
  • It also doesn't allow you to look at the pictures of equipment that you've saved to a jobsite, which defeats the purpose of saving a picture

Alliance's Future Program

We were fine with the deployment and use over the last few years but the latest price increase has us shopping.

Room for improvement
  • emails sent out end up in spam for a lot of our existing clients, meaning they do not pay their invoices without extra manual work
  • We also see inconsistencies by all staff, to compensate we review things twice as the details can be different each time we review an account's data

its microkey we switched from but your review could not locate? The accounting package was cumbersome, especially in the tax fields

Service Box Rocks!

Overall it has been very good. I would recommend. Very user friendly, very accurate, works with our accounting system.

  • Super easy to learn and user friendly

  • The follow up feature needs some work
  • Very difficult to dismiss alerts

Service Box...meh.

Good for now but we plan on switching soon. The customer service people have to be emailed for any changes.

Simple tasks are made complicated by this software such as zipcode not printed on work orders, screens not properly displayed on cell phone, and the quality of pictures uploaded are not very good

Happy new customer

Overall, the productivity of our technicians and office staff seem to have increased. No major complaints on the software.

What they liked
  • The onboarding support offered by the team was excellent an it also covered some of the customization needed for your business
  • The Training that they put on for our technicians was very helpful as well
Room for improvement
  • The mobile app used by technicians, in my case is a bit clunky
  • It comes up with many notifications when a job is scheduled, moved or changed, but the amount of notifications tends to lead me to ignoring them all together
  • If it would open directly to the Web view of ServiceBox, that would be very helpful

The feature set in ServiceBox is much greater and TradeTraks scheduling was very painful to work with.

The best program for service Industries

Wonderful!! You really get a well organized platform for your business that is worth every penny!! They help you every step of the way so nothing is missed or done incorrectly.

Good but not Great

Overall pretty good but would be great if it had inventory management with multiple vendor ability and bin locations.

  • Program is relatively simple and great for smaller businesses
  • I really like the design of the schedule

  • No inventory control to manage products sold, Lots or error messages and it has become very slow at times
  • Like the program has to wake itself up every morning

Reasonable Value for Money

Overall, I would say I’m partially satisfied, given the type of work we do (mainly service work and new installation projects). I believe it offers reasonable value for money.

  • Overall, it is user-friendly and requires minimal training
  • I also appreciate how it integrates work orders with quotes and invoicing, as well as its ability to synchronize with various ERP systems
Room for improvement
  • The scheduler requires significant improvements
  • Additionally, the application can be slow and unresponsive at times, and the reporting functionality also needs substantial enhancements
