Good case management
It helped with handling and processing cases including the financial side of billing and financials to be sent out and internally
This truly helped with the amount of time that lawyers and support staff had to spend handling and processing case documents
There was a pretty steep learning curve that had to be overcome prior to being able to actually implement it

Tabs3 Billing, Accounting & Practice Management
I have been using Tabs3 software for 30+ years. As a consultant, I am familiar with many of the other legal software packages, and the one I use for my business is Tabs3. It continues to evolve with the latest technology, and I completely trust the integrity of the software.
- The software is rock-solid
- It is comprehensive and integrates all areas of the law practice
- The company (STI) is meticulous in producing bug-free software, and they are immediately responsive to all support questions
- The user interface is intuitive and the work-flow is easy
- The process to email bills has reduced my billing time from 2 days to 1 hour
- Too many great features to list them all
- I give this software my highest recommendation
One minor option I'd like to see is the ability to change WIP transactions for costs as well as for fees

Excellent for dedicated timekeepers
I have been using TABS3 for over 20 years. Prior to that time, as a CPA, I assisted attorneys who were using it as well. It is an excellent product that has been around for a long time. And this is a company that understands "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" because it works! (Don't misunderstand the difference between updated/modernized versus "overhauled". This product has kept up with the times without overreaching.)
- This is an excellent product that works as advertised
- It is geared towards attorneys but, as a CPA firm, it has benefitted us greatly
- I would like to have a better "training session" to use this software
- I believe we are using it well, but it could be better benefit us (but I'm not sure how)

TABS makes your daily tasks easy to accomplish and all your information easily accessible.
- Easy to use and easy to learn which is great when training new employees
- Easy access to all the information you need
- Required annual support subscription which we do not use

Tabs is good but is good enough?
I was happy using Tabs and thought it was great because it was the only one I had ever used. It wasn't until I looked at other time/billing software that I realized there was so much more available.
The ability to sort reports the way I wanted them, even if it took way too long to generate
- That it takes so long for reports to generate
- Not being able to "build your day" and enter by date instead of file/matter
- Not being able to split bill
- Not able to change code and retain entry

100% In On Tabs3!
I work with the various Tabs3 module, but primarily with PracticeMaster. I interact with PracticeMaster for calendaring, time entry, interfacing with clients (via email), and document management (of client records).
- User friendliness of the application and scope of the different modules available
- Module interface is also a key pro to this product; that you can access information about different aspects of client interaction from many "angles" or perspectives
- Limit to number of users that can be on the platform
