About ThunderTix

Designed for the performing arts, ThunderTix provides reserved seating and general admission event management. Teams can combine fundraising, gift cards, merchandise, concessions, and a private CRM in one platform. ThunderTix is a full-service ticketing solution that caters to the performing arts with options for reserved seating or general admission events. Teams can build out custom seating charts that enable patrons to select seats in real-time. ThunderTix enables event managers to decide between charging customers a ticketing fee and retaining that revenue or going fee-free. Ticket sales can be processed online, over the phone, or at the box office. Once guests have arrived, managers can either use the ThunderTix app or any preferred hardware to scan, un-scan, and sell tickets at the door. The web-based platform enables venues to download nightly and accurate reports, helping clients to implement informed decisions about current or upcoming events. Reliable and easily adopted. Excellent customer service.

A previous ticketing system became unmanageable, hostile and even extortive. In a panic, I quickly surveyed replacements. ThunderTix quickly proved the best both as a product and in alignment with out organization's mission statement of regional support and being woman- owned. With meaningful but minimal help from the ThunderTix tech team, we converted over immediately with literally no down time. Setup was less than a week, probably 3 days max, and has worked perfectly for years.

What they liked
  • Setup was simple and maintenance has been trivial
  • The codebase had been refactored just before our adoption and the newer technology has proven flexible, extensible and reliable
  • Customer attention has been personal and consistent
Room for improvement
  • The prices have been creeping up as they add features to compete up the market
  • While the features are solid and well crafted, many of them are beyond our needs but obviously necessary to be competitive and grow in the market

Thundertix is Awesome

I started at our organization as the Marketing Director; we had no website and were selling paper tickets. I had a great experience with Thundertix at a theater in Endicott, New York 16-18 years ago, so when I saw the need here, Thundertix was the best fit. I would highly recommend Thundertix for any size organization; so flexible and easy to use, and tech support is great. Thundertix is the best!

What they liked
  • Thundertix seems to anticipate what producers need before we know we need it
  • Shortcuts and streamlined operations make it so easy to sell, manage and report ticket transactions
  • Questions are answered quickly by Support, and requests for options are always taken into consideration - often already available
Room for improvement
  • I can't think of anything at all
  • Thundertix is pretty great

ThunderTix was an easy critical upgrade at a crucial time

We had a service provider go insane on us, demanding unbelievable payments in an almost extortionate setting. I researched the options, limited by our resources, and determined they were many of the things that aligned with our company and its mission statement: Regionally based, woman owned, technologically current. The entire conversion took only a few days. We were up and running with them in less that a week and have NEVER missed a single event. They have PERSONALLY reached out to us multiple times for feedback, concerns, and ideas. We have not been unhappy about a single thing technologically or as a customer.

What they liked

It has been a very easy, extremely reliable tool that I can take completely for granted

Room for improvement
  • The price is competitive, but they are being forced to follow market costs
  • While the features expand, the price has to
  • We have not had need of the more advanced features, but a more advanced company/user would definitely benefit from them immediately

ThunderTix is great for Briggs Farm Blues Festival!

At first I was intimidated. As time went on, it got very easy. I haven't called customer service in a long time, but the few times I did they were very responsive and easy to talk to.

What they liked
  • I run a large, multi-day music festival
  • ThunderTix is great with every aspect of ticketing
  • I track orders easily, upgrade or exchange tickets easily, and can really help people because ThunderTix is easy to understand on my end
  • I am really appreciative of this system
  • I get offers to switch all the time, but I never will
Room for improvement
  • There are no cons
  • At first I thought I would never be able to figure it all out, but over a short amount of time I'm fairly confident

My ThunderTix Review

Our organization has been selling tickets for nearly 18 years and during the first 17 we used software that was extremely affordable but didn't do everything we needed. When we moved to ThunderTix we undertook a greater expense it's true, but we also saw an accompanying increase in sales that we know has been largely fueled by our use of ThunderTix. To me it has been an expense that was worth the investment.

What they liked
  • There are several positives
  • But for the me the best is the ease of use for the patron
  • It is simple and intuitive
  • We moved to ThunderTix at the start of our 2024 Season and saw a huge uptick in ticket sales
  • There were many factors in this improvement, but it has to be said that one contributor was certainly our move to ThunderTix which made our reservation process so much simpler for our patrons
Room for improvement
  • I wish I had the ability to obtain reports of an entire run of a production in a Performance Summary that compared each performance from one production in one document
  • That said, another great thing about ThunderTix is the ability to submit feature requests and they have always proven to be willing to accept requests to take a look at features that you request

ThunderTix is awesome!

ThunderTix has been very easy to use and I really enjoy the reports you can pull out of there too. It keeps a lot of data for you and you can look at your customer base and see how many people have been coming to your shows, etc. We have been using it for about two years now and I really enjoy the way the database works. It helps make my life a lot easier.

What they liked
  • ThunderTix has A LOT of flexibility about what you do or do not want to post on their site
  • It's very customizable depending on what your needs are
  • You can send pre-concert or post-concert emails as well as surveys
Room for improvement
  • Took me a little bit to learn how to use the menus

Wonderful product and customer service.

We've been with them for over 10 years now and the user experience and customer service continue to be exemplary, with requested features added regularly. We recommend ThunderTix to everyone!

  • They respond quickly to questions and are always improving the system

It's not possible to rename coupon codes - we have to create new ones, which makes keeping track of them all unwieldy

Thundertix in Guysborough

I recommend this online ticketing solution for performance centres. Not only were they helpful with understaning their product, they also steered me in acquiring a payment processing solution.

What they liked
  • The product has everything we need
  • The support is excellent
  • I particularly liked the offer of 1 hour tutorial sessions, and tge fact that these sessions were recorded for our future use
Room for improvement
  • Really, I am not coming up with any shortcomings
  • Everthing that was promised by Thundertix was met kr exceeded

ThunderTix Review - Small Historic Theater

Excellent experience--able to get personal attention to questions but the product is designed with user experience in mind so we have been able to implement and use it without much need for such help.

What they liked
  • As a small theater, we find ThunderTix to be very easy and intuitive to use
  • It also has all of the features we need and want, including the new Membership capability

I have not yet figured out how to use ThunderTix while on my phone/smart device- not sure if that is possible

Great Success with ThunderTix for my play Witchland!

Overall, working with ThunderTix was super easy, and I'm definitely planning on using it for future events. My Off-Broadway play, Witchland, ran for a few weeks, and I was able to manage the entire ticketing sales and process, and allocation, seamlessly.

What they liked
  • ThunderTix made the daunting task of managing tickets for my stage production super easy
  • They helped me set up the site, and once up and running it was very easy to manage and navigate
Room for improvement

No real cons with the system - there is a small learning curve initially, then it's smooth sailing
