The BEST Legal Accounting Software Out There!
Overall the customer service, look and functionality and just overall experience has been the best I have had from the like 8+ legal accounting software out there.
- This is the BEST legal accounting software out there in my opinion
- It is intuitive and easy to use and customize
- The best is how easy it is to change or undo something
- This is great for bookkeeping
- Big time saver
- I don’t have any cons for myself but I would imagine my clients would prefer if it had more CRM abilities
- That said, that WILL be changing soon via thier partnership with Actionstep

Functionality is much higher and Soluno is a cloud based software which is key to success these days.

The BEST legal accounting software on the market
This is the best legal accounting software on the market today. Easy to use, IOLTA ready. Cloud-based. Superior customer support with live agents -- never a "bot".
- Excellent legal practice accounting software on the market today
- Soluno does not yet have a mobile app
- However, with the internet, the website is accessible anytime

PC LAw was no longer supported and had too many data discrepancies.
Why they chose it
"Best software found for accounting and matter management"

Keep looking.
Awful. After 11 months we are looking to switch again, as is everyone on our floor.
- It's cloud based which is good
- There aren't many others
- If I could give a negative stars I would
- We switched from PC law which had become outdated and unreliable
- We switched based on our bookkeeper's recommendation
- It has been nothing short of a disappointment
- The customer service that had been promised is non-existent
- Our bookkeeper who works at a medium sized firm that had switched has confirmed that the customer service has deteriorated significantly in the last year to the point she is no longer recommending it
- But it makes little sense
- Difficult to navigate
- Where to start
- It's things big and small
- For example, the icons that were chosen, presumably to make it easier, don't really make sense
- It is difficult to navigate and cumbersome
- PC Law had become outdated and unreliable
- But it was intuitive
- Soluno makes everything more complicated

Converted to soluno
they have been bought by a parent company but has retained their main Canadian staff members, have been though 2 year ends with the software and needed to contact our main point each time to ensure we were using the correct reports. possibly just need to get these long term reports working or had slight changes due to process changes/updates during the year, but they worked with us to make sure we had our complex compensation reports run each year.
Conversion process is easy, making sure you have a consultant and soluno staff available to assist was very helpful getting us up and running smoothly
the level of customizability needs intervention by soluno dev/staff, but this might just be cloud software vs on prem
Switched From
prolaw was on prem, the remote/web interface and mobile app are very different from the desktop interface. statement allocations are inaccurate, data is deleted/reset.. write offs are treated as payments.

Easy Implementation and Great Support Team
Verified reviewer
- The conversion and implementation was easy and faster than expected
- Overall the software works great and our lawyers find it simple to use, including when working remotely
- We had a smooth transition from our old system to Soluno without missing a beat, all of our files and their settings and history carried over so there was only a short "downtime" during the conversion
- But most of all, the support team have been amazing both for the initial setup and in providing continuing support, answering questions, and finding custom solutions to meet our unique needs
- There is some online documentation for the bigger features but there are also a lot of settings that are not covered in the how-to documents
- It would be better if more documentation were available
- Also, it might just be my computer but some features (payables, reports) don't work quite right in Firefox although they work fine in the Edge browser
- Reports generate their totals/summaries at the bottom, so often you have to scroll a long way down to get to the totals you want to see - it's missing a "totals only" setting to prevent that
Switched From
We were unhappy with our previous accounting software, because (among other reasons) it was not friendly when working remotely.
Why they chose it
"The biggest deciding factor vs the other options was that Soluno allowed us to bring over our entire full docket history, including previously invoiced dockets, so that the entire billing history for each file is viewable in Soluno. This means we don't have to go back and consult our old accounting system to locate dockets and invoices from years ago. It was also important that Soluno handles all our accounting without needing an additional QuickBooks integration. The fact that many features, functions and reports in PCLaw are analogous to PCLaw also made the learning curve easy."

Soluno has revolutionized our firm management and accounting
Everything in our experience has been top-notch and a dramatic difference from Thomson Reuters, a massively larger company than Devlos. From our first interaction with their sales force, to onboarding and importation of data, to making feature requests that are actually acted upon, the experience has been 100% positive.
- Soluno has the best of both worlds – the law firm business intelligence of a mature product like PCLaw with the freedom and convenience of a browser-based solution
- I love everything about it
- Here are the top reasons you should switch to Soluno too: 1) it has a well-designed user interface that is intuitive but powerful; 2) it is a sophisticated platform with billing and accounting made for attorneys, not something generic like QuickBooks that is a poor fit for lawyers; 3) incredible, fine-grained reporting on every metric you could imagine for timekeepers, firm performance and accounting; 4) surprisingly snappy performance that will convince you the server is in your office; 5) wonderful, attentive customer service, including listening to feature requests and acting on them quickly; and 6) free (depending on firm size) importation of data from our previous system
- In our previous system (Firm Central + QuickBooks Online), posting a payment required five manual steps in two systems
- In Soluno, it’s one step that’s lightning quick and will save us considerable time and hassle
The only thing I’ve noticed is that there isn’t much of an online help utility, but there is a customer support widget in the corner for live chat support that is quite responsive
Switched From
Firm Central feels like it hasn't changed in years. A recent three-week outage preventing sync with QuickBooks was the final straw. Feature requests fall on deaf ears, and the need for a separate accounting system results in duplicative entries and unwieldy processes for simple tasks.
Why they chose it
"Soluno is the only product that combines the sophistication and configurability of a system like PCLaw with the ease-of-use and flexibility of a web-based interface. Most practice management vendors spend too much time trying to make their products emulate Outlook and document management and not enough focusing on what they should – billing and accounting for law firms. As a result, they are too primitive and simplistic even for small firms. Soluno met our requirements exactly by perfecting billing and accounting for our law firm."

Accounting
Time savings is a huge plus with the software. Also the cloud based software is great, easy to access on numerous devices if necessary. I can keep an eye on productivity very easily and that is very important to the bottom line. Very easy to use software.
- Integration from PCLAW was seamless
- All trust activity was moved from PCLAW and that was very important
- We have over 30 staff and the videos for all of the functions were very good and almost no additional training was needed
- Very intuitive software
- I really don't like that it doesn't pick up a/r's on billing
- Also when changes are made in the prebill mode it doesn't change the trust transfer amount
- I often bill 50 matters at a time and I have to be so careful to change these amounts
- On occasion I don't catch them and it just looks bad from a client perspective
Switched From
Remote access (which they say they won't support) was just not conducive anymore with people working from home and such a large staff.Old software and often problematic. Their tech support fees were very costly for old software I had been working on for 38 years. Their tech support staff was also terrible.
Why they chose it
"All round much better software. Most of what we looked at either had a 3rd party link for some of the functionality and same cost for a lot less functions."

Love Soluno!
Verified reviewer
- It is amazingly easy to use
- Especially compared to other law firm products commonly used
- Whenever I have a question or need help, the support team is absolutely fantastic; their customer service is is definitely above and beyond
I would like more direct features rather than 3rd party features (email management, document management, BF/Reminder system)
Switched From
PC Law is antiquated and have not made any major updates, or done any "growth" is years. Difficult to use (not intuitive). Glitchy. etc, etc.

Great Software and Awesome Customer Service!
We previously used PCLaw and decided to make a change mostly because we had software problems that wouldn't be addressed nor fixed by the company but also we made a company decision to move to cloud-based software. The transition to Soluno was easy. The software was similar in function to what we were used to because representative were involved with PCLaw previously. That made it an easier transition for our employees. They continue to be extremely responsive to our suggestions for enhancements to the software.
- This software is very user friendly and the tech support is very quick to respond and fix any issue we may encounter
- They keep improving and adding new features regularly
- Their team also explains things in understandable terminology and not "industry" language - very helpful
- There are some integrations (ie: credit card payments and payroll GL importing) that aren't available but I am assured that they are on the list for future improvements to the software
- A printable user manual and basic (for new users) and advanced (for existing users) training videos would also be helpful

LexisNexis wasn't putting effort into fixing their product. We would discuss our continued problems with PCLaw which lasted several years with LN management and technical team but wouldn't get any resolution. In fact, they started to cut tech support staff making it more and more difficult to get issues fixed.
Why they chose it
"We made a company decision to move to cloud-based software and Soluno was similar in function to what we were used. Their team was also extremely responsive to our concerns and questions, before and after implementation. They continue to be an amazing company to work with!"
