PDF Annotation Powerhouse
Bluebeam is my go-to software for both internal document markup, and external document storage and collaboration. It is the most effective annotation tool for computer-savvy architectural professionals and has simplified drawing compilation and collaboration.
The extensive markup tools bring traditional architectural document annotation into the 21st century, allowing quick, intuitive, and professional looking markups to be quickly documented and shared with team members
Bluebeam can be unnecessarily clunky and demanding on hardware at times, and occasional bugs/glitches can make tools like "Reduce PDF File Size" have unpredictable results

Bluebeam for ultimate collaboration.
it has been great, it has helped with working from home or working with people in other states, the remote uses have been stellar.
Love using sessions and seeing mark-ups in real time along with a log of who was working and modifying certain things
nothing is super intuitive, it's hard to locate tools by just the icon if you are not sure the exact nomenclature used in naming
Switched From
Bluebeam has so many more options that are tailored to architecture.

Bluebeam is the best for construction drawings
Verified reviewer
- I use Bluebeam the most for reviewing and marking up construction drawings
- The tools that Bluebeam offers make it very easy to import specific stamps that you use often, cloud/highlight certain areas of a document and even move pages around
- I also really love the comparing tool where you can lay multiple page on top of each other to see where they differ without having to figure it out on your own side-by-side
- Occasionaly Bluebeam with glitch and not maximize from the start bar, even though I know the app is open and I have documents open within it
- This generally has to do with disconnecting from my docking station, and hasn't ever effected documents saving correctly - but is annoying none-the-less to disconnect my computer, walk into a meeting, then not be able to open for presentation

Versatile PDF Editor
Overall experience is good but obviously some functions need to be improved to make it easier and more intuitive to use.
- Very versatile PDF editing software for people to use especially for engineers and architect like me
- Love the cut and paste and measuring function of the software
- The shortcut commands of the software are too long and cumbersome to use because most of them require 3 key strokes like measuring requires ‘alt shift L’
- Shortcuts should be maximum of 2 key strokes, not 3
- Provide autosave function and more videos on how to be an expert user
- Provide function to enable users to change small caps into all caps & vice versa without the need to rely on additional plugged in app of another add on software
Switched From
Bluebeam Revu is more versatile and cheaper as a standalone software compared to the Adobe Creative Suite as a whole package.

Great app for take offs
Really positive - saves time, easy to use, great training facilities
- Take offs - being able to export directly to workflow max for pricing
The format is not always readily translatable across other software - for example some elements of layers etc can be problematic if opening in Adobe
Switched From
Geared towards project management, with a far better tool kit for purpose.

Overwhelming Features
Bluebeam has been great for collaboration between departments in our company and with clients.
- Bluebeam has an immense amount of features, compared to competitors
There are so many features and functions within Bluebeam that it becomes overwhelming to train employees

A must-have for construction estimating
When I started using BlueBeam, I was able to cut down my time totaling measurements from 45 min a page on average to absolute 0. This was a huge help to me as I was the only one bidding the smaller construction jobs. With my extra time, I was able to put more bids together in the same amount of time, win more bids, and deal with change orders easily. The upfront cost was scary at 1st but it is worth every penny.
- The fact that BlueBeam adds up all the values that have been measured/counted makes life so much easier
- I was using PDF X-Change before which allowed me to measure all that I needed to but I was stuck with an excel spreadsheet, hovering over every single line to add everything up with formulas
- This took literal hours
- Now everything is added up along the way and there's no need to use additional programs to get my totals
- The fill feature was also a game changer for me
- it lessened my time measuring area measurement significantly
- When using the Fill feature, the lines do have to be solid and bold for it to work effectively
- This took a little while for me to figure out and there are some plans that is won't work for at all, such as hand drawn plans
- There are work arounds like using the border feature to try to contain it but any opening will ruin the progress so far
Switched From
I no longer needed to total my measurements. The cost was a leap but it easily paid for itself in the time I saved within the 1st 6 months. It also made mistakes easier to correct by allowing me to change the scale when needed instead of remeasuring with the correct scale in mind.

Take control of your TakeOffs with BlueBeam!
Excellent - BlueBeam has a fantastic training program to review if you need to, but it's also fairly intuitive. I do recommend going through some of the training though since you're likely only scraping the surface of what BlueBeam can do without doing some training!
- It is daunting at first, but it's quite easy to get accustomed to using
- The best feature, however, is the incredibly low price for what you get
- I don't like the inability to set/save scales on protected documents - I'm not altering the document
- I just want to be able to scale it
Why they chose it
"Cost! The value for money with BlueBeam is unbeatable."
