Mosaic is a next level SaaS FP&A tool vs. traditional planning tools
Mosaic is great at taking information from our financial systems, CRM, and HR tools to enable easy financial performance tracking and reporting. With numerous data points needed to report on business performance having all details readily available in one place allows for timely and accurate reporting that formerly took days to manually consolidate and manually update in multiple spreadsheets. Mosaic also enables easier 3 statement scenario and long term planning that can be extremely manual and error prone when done via spreadsheets.
- Mosaic allows you to simplify and even automate numerous monthly tasks including ARR reporting, headcount planning, SaaS metric reporting & benchmarking
- Building visuals is extremely simple and straightforward and can be easily shared to internal stakeholders
- FP&A tasks that historically took multiple days can now be done in a fraction of the time, leaving more time to analyze results and derive key business insights
- Implementation and support teams are extremely helpful in go-live and ongoing support
Some integrations can be limited based on internal structure, but there are workarounds

Tool was not tailored to SaaS and we were getting little value from the tool. Many tasks still needed to be done manually in many different spreadsheets.

Great within proper context
Overall it's a decent tool. It will be great for comparing budgets to actuals, distributing some simple financial reporting, and simple data interfacing across systems. The limits related to formulated fields in custom metrics make it less efficient for report building.
- The canvases have a great interface and the ability to change the date range for all reports on a canvas is very convenient
- Having a way to distribute financial data where the user can interact with it in a controlled way saves extra seats in financial software and a lot of training on reporting practices
- The customization in building metrics and reports is limited by the code free structure
- Not all simple functions are able to translate the formula builder's syntax and there is some functionality from spreadsheet reporting that isn't replicated

Great bit of software worth investing in.
Overall, I'd say the software is good at whzt it does and allows users to feel in control of their projects and financials.
- I have been around Mosaic for a short time snd found it to be a decent software with a good value for money, ease of use and a fairly simple learning curve
- This makes accounting, project tracking, and financial reporting a cinch
- I'm not sure I have any cons for the software
- It is well made in my opinion and I would promote it to anyone

- We got up & running on Mosaic with our opex & department-level reporting incredibly quickly
- We have a ton of visibility into how our expense/headcount are tracking, and headcount planning is very straight forward
- Many of our department heads have found Mosaic a much easier way to ingest data than the google sheets we were using previously
- As a main administrator, I use Mosaic weekly & it simplifies our budget refreshes & BVA reporting significantly
- We are still using google sheets/excel files for more complex parts of our modelling (revenue), as they offer flexibility & speed of updating that Mosaic can't match
- We also use google sheets when we need people outside the Finance team to comment or suggest edits, as Mosaic does not have those collaborative capabilities
- We do not use any Mosaic reports directly in our executive reporting, as we can't customize them sufficiently to meet our needs

Getting away from spreadsheet modelling
Easy to get up and running. Customer Success team is helpful. Some limitations in functionality especially in reporting dashboards, but they roll out new features regularly.
- It is very helpful to have financial data from ERP system loaded automatically, and to have both forecast and actual data stored in a structured format rather than manually copying and pasting everything in spreadsheets
- Built in logic There is quite a bit of flexibility in how to set up models and and calculations
- Built in logic for headcount alleviates many struggles with the complexity of personnel forecasting
- The comparison reports make tracking and comparing multiple forecasts and actual financials simple
- The documentation could be organized better and have more information and examples about certain features
- Reporting functionality requires a lot of clicks to get certain data points, especially forecast metrics other than financial account values
- The ability to calculate custom metrics is limited for forecast scenarios

Accurate and easy to use
My overall experience has been very positive. It is heads above keeping track on a spreadsheet or time clock.

- It puts all necessary tools in one place, making it user and admin friendly
The only complaint I have is that it does sometimes have bugs, but it’s nothing that restarting it doesn’t help
