pretty good

Would recommend to others as we understand our poor experience onboarding was a one-off. Overall, we are happy.

What they liked
  • The software itself is easy to use and fairly intuitive
  • It's helped us amalgamate our CRM database with our billing & payments
  • The support staff & tier 2 team are awesome and things have been getting faster and more responsive with the support team
  • I like that there are additional modules we can add on as our biz needs grow
Room for improvement
  • The staff member onboarding us, it was his last onboarding before he moved to a different dept and to say it was brutal would be an understatement
  • 2 yrs later and we are still correcting issues that the onboarding created
  • It has been a fight to get the software to meet our needs from day one - we didn't now what we didn't now and the deficient onboarding exacerbated the issues
  • We wish there was more easy-to-access support with the webpages

GZ is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.

So far, minus the customer service issues, we have really enjoyed using GZ. It has increased our attendance for classes, events, and charity events.

What they liked
  • It has most everything that an association AMS should have
  • Most areas are pretty easy to learn and set up, but there are a few areas that don't make sense in the setup
Room for improvement

The customer service is not up to par to the other programs and systems that we use on a daily basis

We did not use Empower, but the product we were using by Black Knight was discontinued. It was horrible and old anyway.

GZ for Small Trade Association

GrowthZone really wants to put out a great product and meet its customers' needs; the initial conversion was pretty smooth. They are open to suggestions.

What they liked
  • Great value for budget-minded small association; an off-the-shelf product with customization options that have worked well for our organization
  • Knowledge Base is very thorough - sometimes difficult to find just what you're looking for with all the information but once you do find it, the step by step graphics and instructions are great
Room for improvement

Customer service had declined for a while / tickets and support were taking quite a bit longer than we'd like, but that has been improved a lot since new management and commitment to serving its customers

Growthzone review

Overall, it is good program with many features that work well together; however, it seems the program was designed by different committees and forced to work together. So far no one has been able to provide a map of terms & examples. See above.

What they liked

What I like best is how membership management, event registration, and communications all work together to provide a record of member activity

Room for improvement
  • Support - When we used Memberzone customer support was much, much better
  • Now it is hard to get someone on the phone
  • Also, there is no consistency in terms
  • Some places Contact Name is a company, others it is an individual
  • This makes it hard to pull reports and get the desired results

Your question above would not let me enter the correct response. I switched from Memberzone because support for it was being phased out. Prior to that I used Hammers by LDI Consutling. That change was made for more features.

"Your question above does not allow for correct answers. Other programs consider were WildApricot, MemberClick, and Member365. Intergration with NAHB's WMS. This was the one essential feature."

Growthzone for Trade Association Use

Very good. Onboarding and customer care are very good. Perhaps the most impressive thing about GZ from my perspective is that it is already apparent to me that they listen to their users, and that they are constantly making improvements and keeping users in the loop on what features and fixes are coming down the pipe.

  • Membership Management, Reporting, and user education are all features are all logically laid out
  • In fact, the whole environment is well designed with reporting being a key feature to provide additional metrics for an association

  • There is a learning curve, but it is not insurmountable

Great customer service when contacted, I think the good news is there is room to grow. I do wish there could be a little more user friendly features on the website building portion of it.

What they liked
  • I like the directory, contact portion of it very much, it's clear and seems to have enough of the fields that we need and room to grow
  • I also like the payment portal is included
  • Certifications are a huge part of our business and that is there too
Room for improvement
  • Customer support is great, but hard to reach sometimes and I've waited up to 5 days on tickets
  • Sometimes what we are doing is more urgent and a response would be appreciated

We are still onboarding, but we are confident this will revolutionize how we currently do business. Getting started with Growthzne has been such a great experience! From day one, the team has been welcoming, patient, and easy to work with. They walk us through every step, answer our questions quickly, and make sure we actually understand what’s happening—not just check boxes. What we’ve loved most is how personal it feels. They really listen to our needs and tailor things so it fits us, instead of just giving a one-size-fits-all plan. Support from GrowthZone from initial trainings through the website build has been stellar. The GZ team works together to make sure you have everything you need for a successful launch.
