Fantastic product with an exciting future
Excellent. The support received from staff from training & go live to ongoing assistance has been outstanding. Responses are prompt and efficient, if something can't be done there's usually a work around or solution provided.
- iplicit is a modern flexible system with great support
- It is cloud based so can be accessed easily from anywhere
- It's intuitive to use, transparent and has powerful reporting capabilities
- There is a development roadmap which as a user I feel able to influence
- Regular system updates are seamlessly deployed alongside monthly user webinars
- This user education is really helpful, enabling us to be kept informed of new features as well as maximising existing functionality
- The stock management module is adequate but I think needs more development
- The valuation methods available are Average and Standard, not FIFO
- Valuations have to be run at month end rather than being perpetual

Why they chose it
"Stock functionality, future roadmap, the fact is is a new system designed from scratch without any legacy constraints."

Head of Finance
It was quite a steep learning curve but now that we are into our second year of going live you can start seeing some of the benefits and efficiencies that we have gained from our monthly reporting. The level of detail in the GL opens up a lot of doors for more detailed and accurate analysis. I still feel that there is more that we can do to get more from the system in year 2 as we continue to learn more and what is encouraging is that there is a clear link between the client and the development and customer success teams who are continually working on responding to needs and driving development into the product. I hope this continues as the product becomes a more stablished player in the market and gains additional investment.
- The system offers a lot of functionality that addresses many of the limitations of some of the more basic accounting packages that firms may have started to outgrow, at a reasonable price point
- I have seen Iplicit grow in terms of its reputation over the last few years to now compete head to head with some of the more stablished names out there
- Yet iplicit still keeps in touch with it's customers, listening to their needs and you can see these being put through development into future updates in real time
- There are still some features in the product that need some further development and the support platform is being addressed but there are often gaps that need more support tickets raised
- I have been unable to get the GL view to manipulate in quite the way i would like but there are options to work around this with the excel add-in and enquiries, although some of these still need some work
- I also don't like the pricing structure with the bank feeds which means we cannot get the full level of functionality that we would like without paying a monthly charge on each and every bank account
- I felt like the implementation stage, including limited resource from the technical team, which could have made things smoother and better tailored to our business, that said most aspects can be fixed and addressed at a later stage
Switched From
Complexity of the business structure and intercompany. Lack of audit trails and reporting without bulky ODBC links being used. Simplicity of the GL to provide further analysis.
Why they chose it
"The price point and that I felt like if there were issues there was a clear link to development. I also bought into the vision for the product and the niche in which it was looking to expand in the market."

Durham SU Iplicit experience
I think its been 95% really good - as the project lead, I'd been very nervous about going live when I was scheduled to go on holiday, and leaving my colleagues to deal with it - I was persuaded by Iplicit my fears were unfounded (and that they would hold the hands of the finance team in my absence), went on holiday, and came back to a fully functioning system. Its a developing system, so am sure it'll only get better.
- The automation, the time saved, and workflows- its cloud based, so no more worrying about losing connection to servers when working remotely
- The training and set up were highly professional, and we we went live on the day planned with no significant issues - I've never had that before
Like many systems, it has facility to import data into spreadsheets, and update them- and for live data this works really well- the disappointment is that although its very possible to put budget data into Iplicit, you cant yet link it to spreadsheets alongside the live data
Switched From
Legacy software based on servers in a weird configuration that couldn't be moved, and becoming increasingly expensive for something that really hadnt progressed much in 9 years. Support and communication non existent.
Why they chose it
"IRIS because it wasnt as good, Sage 200 because they seemed rather disinterested, and it probably wasnt as good, and Access was a close contender - we could have gone there (it has Student Expenses integration) but we felt more comfortable in the Iplicit relationship and their ability to get us running."

Highly customisable and excellent range of features
Overall I am really happy with iPLICIT, it did take a while for the customised reporting Budget vs Actual section to get it working as per our needs, and we are still redefining our processes with the help of the iPLICIT team
- I really like the prepayment and deferred income option when recording purchase and sale invoices, it is very easy to use
- The implementation team were very knowledgeable and managed to delivered our requirements which were a bit complex
- I also like the help section, I have set up a couple of features just by following the instructions
We have had negative feedback from users when creating their expense claims using the mobile app, finding difficult to navigate all screens and selecting the correct fields when the visibility is restricted to the small mobile screen
Switched From
we were looking to automate prepayments and deferred income and to be able to run management accounts within the system
Why they chose it
"iPLICIT offered better customisable features"

An amazing innovative software
Overall, Iplicit is a great software in the making! It has many useful functions and allows you to customize your experience.
Iplicit makes it particularly easy to manage multiple entities, with a number of additional features such as the excel add in which just give a lot more freedom to create reports without constantly updating various databases
- Iplicit doesn't allow for making changes easily once things have been reconciled
- You can change basics such as periods, but it should be much easier to change nominal codes or to correct bank transactions once reconciled
Switched From
I joined after we moved, but I think it was April 2024. I have also used Sage 50 in the past but I much prefer Iplicit

Happy Iplicit User
It took a while for the budgets to work as we needed and we are trying to get ap automation working fully for us. I beleive it does help us with month end and picking up any miscoding/errors etc a bit more easily. It has definitely helped us with efficiency
- I really find the easy access on the web, easy log check very helpful
- I also find the bulk payment process very helpful and user friendly to adjust and view as you need
- Th ease of exporting into excel to view things as well
- I like the Trial balance and P&L view as well, find it very helpful
- Sometimes there seems to be a lot of drop down options to add etc when you are trying to post things which can take time
- It would also be good to be able to adjust prepayments/deferrals if there has been an error picked up as such
- Also it took a while for the workflow to work with our respective budget holders as needed
Switched From
We were aiming for better reporting for budget holders and users and for more efficiency in the finance department.

Iplicit - A refreshing change
We have been using Iplicit since January 2021 and have not looked back. It is a great product and backed up by a very supportive network where customer's are valued and listened too.
It is a reliable and flexible product with the options to have multi entities and different base currencies
The fact that you have to 'create' a bank account links / option to GL codes that adds a complexity that in our case is not needed
Switched From
Iplicit offered more features and options from the outset. It gave improved GL options and superior reporting facilities'

Cannot recommend Iplicit enough. Have not looked back since leaving Sage.
I cannot fault the experience with Iplicit. Anyone using Sage (expecially 200) should contact them and see what they can do
- It's easy of use, speed, features, support, fantastic implementaion and training
- Cloud base system and not local data leaves us feel a little exposed, not solution has been offer by Iplicit to date
- Dispite having had discussions
Switched From
Sage 50 was awful. Not fit for person for a multi user, multi site operation. Asset register and reporting was awful.
Why they chose it
"Sage 200 was so "Sagey" looked clunky to use, no asset register features (apart from add-ons) plus you needed to riun a dedicated server!!"

Excellent Accounting Software
Excellent product - Very impressed with their customer service and implementation team.
- We have changed our accounting software about 7 months ago
- It has been a massive change, coming from an almost all excel templates and a very manual process to a most innovative and easy to use software
- The programme in itself is very good, user friendly but what impressed me the most is their customer service
- During the implementation process the people involved from Iplicit were very diligent and helpful
- We use Iplicit on a daily basis and it has really improved the quality of our work and reduced the amount of hours for almost if not all our processes
I only wish that the training videos were shared with us from the beginning of the process as it would have facilitate some of the works we had to do while migrating from one program to the other
Switched From
Our SUN product was a very old version and wasn't fully integrated.
