Monograph is the bestest in the westest! :)

Fantastic!!!! I I think that this the way that it was built makes it cross-industry applicable. I could see myself in another industry and recommending that they implement this service.

What they liked
  • User friendliness
  • A++ We have many age ranges, and this interface is so well designed that even the older crowd is able to jump onboard easily
Room for improvement
  • The insurance companies with the payroll services
  • Monograph is great, but those other companies that are tied in with the additional services are quite lacking in their turnaround times and communication
Switched From

Access has been in the process of being phased out by Microsoft for years, as it is a Visual Basic platform that requires having a retained coder who can adjust and update your customized interface so that it remains functional. It cost the same yearly to get Monograph as it did to pay a coder, but we could do everything in-house.

Why they chose it

"BQE Core cost was astronomical. One look at their interface scared our principal architect. We was never going to take the time to learn to navigate it. And onboarding new employees was going to be so time consuming and complicated. Monograph just made things so easy, and are open to feedback on the product to make adjustments as needed."

Monograph, a true tool for architects

More intuitive carrying over of current project would make a great app even more amazing.

What they liked
  • Timesheet analysis and Budget forecasting
Room for improvement
  • Needs a better iOs app
  • Project Details & Communication Tracking sheet would be very helpful
Switched From

Deposit payments and incremental project tracking with a simpler format... initally swapped from Xero Projects

Why they chose it

"Synergy was too vast, complicated/ clunky and grey!"

After a little over a year...

Overall, it is functional, easy to use, but is a work in progress. Not sure what we would switch to though as those changes in software are not painless! Interested in seeing what this product is like in a few years.

What they liked
  • Interface is very intuitive, time tracking is almost always correct
  • Integration with QBO is important to us, as QBO has been our rock with regard to bookkeeping/accounting
  • Monograph is continuing to be developed and enhanced
Room for improvement
  • Support at first was great when we first signed up and was very responsive, and issues were generally settled immediately
  • Quite a bit slower and more elusive now, and there is no community forum or easy way we have found to interact with others users to pick their brains and gain from their experience in resolving questions or issues
  • Invoicing requires the review of multiple tabs simultaneously, and we have suggested a way to combine much (or all) of this information on the financial tab, but nothing has been done yet
  • Have found just a couple of errors, one leaving off consultant work and previously invoiced amounts - noted a couple of months ago, and understand they are still working on this
Switched From

Difficulty in using program, invoices not clear to PMs who reviewed them, and new person (no longer with our firm) probably did not understand it.

Why they chose it

"Not involved in purchase - it was primarily purchased for its project management capabilities."

A good contender

When it comes to specifically manage projects, i really appreciate Monograph's capabilities as it let me track multiple projects at once and let me know what projects, or project phases, need my attention.

What they liked
  • Probably its integration with Quickbooks to do my accounting
  • I also must mention the powerful Gantt chart feature
Room for improvement
  • The fact that I need to subscribe to other tools to make it complete
  • If Monograph could offer an all-in-one suite (from estimate to billing), i would higly recommend it
Why they chose it

"A friend of mine suggested to go with Monograph."

Great software and easy to use

Very positive, and although there is plenty of room for improvement, I do notice that there are often new features being introduced, which I greatly appreciate.

What they liked
  • It is very user friendly and easy to learn how to use
  • It does not take much time to onboard new employees
  • It's staffing/scheduling feature is great too
Room for improvement
  • I would like to see more metrics for each project
  • Namely profit margin, as the numbers I see under the profit margin for each project seem way off
  • It would be nice to understand how those numbers are calculated
  • It would also be nice if Monograph could provide a cost rate for each employee
  • I would also like to be able to enter PTO time available to each employee, which would also help provide a better picture of their cost rate and therefore the profit margin on projects
  • It would also be nice to be able to see at what pace we are consuming the fee for projects, and how we should alter staff hours accordingly
Switched From

We needed a software with better staffing/scheduling features.

Monograph is Great!

I love Monograph and would recommend to anyone in the field. I think it is pretty user friendly and easy to understand where project status and finances stand. The color coding and layout of the Gant sheet is great! Invoicing is a breeze as well as timesheet management.

What they liked
  • I love the layout and color options
  • It is visually pleasing to start, and pretty easy to use once you get acquainted with the program
  • Easy for all staff to use, and helps us manage our time better
Room for improvement
  • Project reports and employee performance reports could be better and easier to read
  • We have some discrepancies when it comes to profit and loss, so we refer to our QuickBooks online for that information
Switched From

Monograph had more features that we use, and once

Why they chose it

"Monograph was overall more detailed, and easier to understand project management. Timesheets and invoicing were simpler as well. All the new features that have been added since we enrolled have been a bonus, keep them coming!"

Monograph Review

There was definitely a learning curve at the beginning, but [sensitive content hidden] was able to greatly assist in this area, and having everyone onboard in the office also helped us transition from our old software. I would say that we are definitely happy with moving to Monograph.

What they liked
  • That is gives great visibility on our projects for management and staff
  • The invoicing function is also a bonus since it allows you to customize the amounts each month
Room for improvement
  • I would like to see improvements in the reports features - they need to be more customizable and available as a PDF
  • I would also like to see the customer service area expanded so that we can call and speak to a representative and share our screen to problem solve
Switched From

We mainly made the switch because we were not seeing the visibility we wanted in our projects and both adding and making changes to project allocations was cumbersome and just did not work for us.

What they liked
  • I enjoy everything that Monograph has to offer; however, what I enjoy the most is the milestone management
  • This has been a game-changer for our office
  • We have a distinctive dashboard display of all milestones that need to be completed that week
  • I can customize these and change them when needed
  • Plus, this is a great visualizer for our clients to understand their project timeline better
Room for improvement
  • I'm honestly enjoying everything with Monograph
Switched From

Houzz Pro did not provide us with the robust software options as Monograph does.

Can't wait for whats to come

Great people, easy to ask questions and get support. Wont turn back!

What they liked

I love the simple interface of the software and the regular updates and improvements always showing up

Room for improvement
  • Looking for ways to integrate with QBO more
  • looking for a how to on the new setup for best results
Switched From

The other platforms were too cumbersome and heavy
