About One Church

One Church is a cloud-based church management solution suitable for businesses of all sizes. It helps ministries reach out to their local communities and manage daily operations such as donations, events, volunteers and more. Key features include people management, volunteer scheduling, kids check-in, text messaging, workflow creation and calendar management. One Church provides a member portal that allows members to manage their profiles, giving history, contact preferences and small groups. Users can also set recurring donations and sign up for church events. The solution can send text messages through the system to inform members about upcoming events. One Church provides support for multiple campuses and allows users to view data for all campuses or restrict access to a selected location. It allows users to create workflows for manual processes and automate text messages, emails, promotions and assignments.

Review of OneChurch Software

We couldn't be more pleased.

What they liked
  • OneChurch Software is easily one of the best kept secrets on the ChMS market today
  • Most Pastors and/or Church leaders are familiar with Planning Center, Tithely, Church Community Builder, Breeze, Rock, etc
  • We have done extensive research on every platform on the market today and most don't come close to offering what OneChurch Software offers
  • I understand that different churches have certain preferences based on specific needs and may be "gun-shy" about trying something new
  • I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed
Room for improvement
  • OCS is a bit pricey when compared to another leading ChMs that we were using prior to coming over to OCS
  • OCS pricing goes up based on the number of member profiles that are active in your system
  • The previous company that we used was a flat $99 monthly fee regardless of how many profiles were in the system
  • This is pretty much the only knock that I have against them
Switched From

Our preferred ChMs with Tithely was Elvanto which they own. They also recently acquired Breeze and have developed their own internal ChMS called Tithely People. The development and upgrading of Elvanto seems to no longer be a priority to them. Many faithful Elvanto users are frustrated and confused with the array of options offered but minimal updates to Elvanto.

Excellent, flexible software for churches of every size

Excellent experience with OCS and their support team. I've worked with nearly every ChMS in the market, helping churches select and implement many products. One Church is the most configurable platform without requiring "custom" code or highly technical steps to get most of the functions that churches need. They've done an amazing job of making the user interface clean and powerful. The chat-based support team are very responsive, often church staff themselves, and the founders are involved and accessible.

What they liked
  • One Church puts best of class, highly configurable tools in one platform, while staying easy to use
  • I love that churches can configure groups and events to match the way they structure their ministry, that it's easy for church members and guests to access and manage their personal data, and for lay leaders and volunteers to have access to the limited data they need
Room for improvement
  • There's an opportunity to make SMS text automation more powerful
  • Currently, "dashboard" type reporting / metrics are weak

Generally - moving from "legacy" products that did not have modern functions and were very rigid in their structures.

Live saver

This software has helped build our community! I could not have managed without it. I use the forms, groups and communication options daily. We have just begun to use the app. This software is very well thought out.

What they liked
  • The support is amazing
  • I have never worked with such a responsive organization
  • I can usually get my questions resolved same day, and have the option for virtual trainings
Room for improvement
  • It would be nice to have a pricing plan for an organization like mine
  • The ratio of members to actual participants is difficult
  • Since many people come randomly, and we are just starting to build our community

Great Tool for the Job!

Overall, I love One Church! It is a great tool. I make knives as a hobby. During the early stages of my learning, I was taught that there are a lot of different hammers in knife making, and the trick is, you have to learn which one is right for the job you are doing. I can say without hesitation that One Church is the right tool for the job I am doing. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the data import, but I'm sure if I had communicated better with [sensitive content hidden], things would have gone more smoothly. [sensitive content hidden] and his team are great to work with!

What they liked
  • One Church, for me, is highly intuitive
  • It works like I, a seasoned church administrator, want a ChMS to work
  • After the initial training session, I played around with it, made a few mistakes, and was off and running
  • I was able to have my church online within days of our data import
  • I really appreciated the price as well
  • I feel like this is the best bang for the buck I've seen in a ChMS
  • I've used other church management tools, and One Church is the one I recommend to my peers
Room for improvement
  • The data import was a little rough
  • I didn't realize until it was too late that not all of the important dates were transferred over, such as baptism dates and confirmation dates
  • The report builder took some time to learn, but once I figured it out, it works well
  • So far, after 3 months, those are the only two issues

I was tired of fighting with Realm to get it to do what I needed it to do. Also, the cost was too high!

"The cost was a huge factor. Also, when we demoed One Church, it seemed to have everything we were looking for. It seemed to be the easiest for the average church member to use. It is very robust."

  • No outstanding cons
  • The platform is intuitive and the team behind One Church is constantly improve the platform and innovating
  • When there is the occasional bug or issue we run into, the One Church team is constantly on top of it
  • I've had situations where I'll have reported a small bug and then the next morning I'll login and they have already fixed the issue

One Church Software Value

We have been thrilled with this transition. I've been through a few ChMS migrations of data to new systems. They are always a lot of work. This one has gotten the best reception by the staff of any I've seen. Most have been happy to give up their old spreadsheets and third-party applications to consolidate our data in one place. I am very pleased with our decision to move to One Church Software.

  • One Church Software is quite easy to use and user-friendly
  • It's visually appealing
  • It does just about everything we need and we've been able to reduce reliance on third-party platforms for some of our data
  • The migration from our previous system to OCS went very well
  • Customer service is very prompt
  • We've also saved quite a bit of money switching to OCS

Sometimes we struggle to get the help desk person to understand what our issue actually is so we can get an appropriate solution

Why they chose it

"There was something about the Planning Center check-in process for kids that was not customizable and their method would not fit with the way we do ministry. I can't remember the specifics, but that was a deal-breaker for us."

We are satisfied with one church and use for all of our church management from people to accounting. It is easy to use and gets the job done.

What they liked
  • We began using One Church because we wanted one platform for different areas of church management
  • We wanted database, communication, giving, accounting, and reporting all in one place
  • The different modules are straight forward and easy to learn
  • We particularly like the reporting and accounting modules
  • They help us keep things simple and effective
  • The monthly fee is reasonable within the industry and for what you get, it is a bargain

  • The email client could use more development
  • At times it feels a tad clunky and "old
  • " But all things considered that is a very small thing

Customizability a huge plus

Overall, we have had a very positive experience. It is light years better than our previous system.

What they liked
  • We have come to love the customizability of the software
  • We can get to some intricate details when it comes to reports and automations
  • Connections is one of my favorite features
  • It allows me to customize the type of information we make about an individual and connect them with the appropriate ministry head

  • With the customizability comes a good bit of time and work
  • The staff person tasked with our transition and construction of automations, forms, and reports had to go through some intricate steps to ensure the right information was being recorded and disseminated

Great for organization and streamlining our Church office & Congregation

My overall experience is very positive. I often get the same team member to help me out and they understand our office and the issues that might arise for us.

  • I love having access to all angles of our church office needs in one program
  • Its a great place for our members to request information about their contributions, create small groups to congregate and quick way to connect with new members and visitors
  • On the office side, it's also where we reconcile our finances and it's a great way to keep track of expenses and funds coming in,plus every committee's budget
  • It's easy to organize or create forms to share within the congregation and keep track of the sign ups
  • I love that it gives me one platform to navigate all these angles on
Room for improvement
  • At times I lose a lot of time figuring out where payments are during reconciliation, only to find out that a glitch has caused the error
  • The team is always helpful recitifying those type of errors, so I appreciate that support

Get OneChurch!

I am the head counter and the contributions module has streamlined our counting process very well. We have fewer mistakes and if we do, we can find and fix them easily. We are able to generate giving statements very quickly.

  • When we researched church management software, we chose OneChurch
  • What an excellent decision
  • It is easy to use, comprehensive, a great value and most important has a wonderful support system
  • If I have a question, I can get an answer very quickly from the most courteous helpers
Room for improvement
  • It as been difficult to get regular members to use it
  • We haven't priortized member usage
  • However, our leaders use it extensively
