I'd been using HubSpot for a while and had been eyeing Salesforce as an alternative. To be honest, I feel like they are quite on par, and as a small business owner you can't really go wrong with either. Salesforce CRM is definitely adequate. Especially the Marketing Cloud for managing email campaigns on customers, which makes things organised and easy to track at a glance and go through analytics. If you were managing things on your own like myself, Salesforce might be too sophisticated for its own good as a start, but something you can start looking into if you were looking to scale or to sell to various markets.
It is a sophisticated CRM software, and great for managing customer database and workflows, but more feared towards larger enterprises I feel, and not exactly cost-effective for small business owners
The steep fee for various subscription tiers, the initial details up was lengthy to set up and I had to really wrap my head around it, felt that it is quite advanced

Cost comparisons make this seem viable, I would actually goback to HubSpot for the interface which I liked better

Pay for what you get well worth the price
All in all the should be the industry standard
- fully customized with our features and tweeks
- The ability to connect with our five9 makes life easier as well
- can be a lag between menus/options however nothing big
- No real big complaints on our end any issues are rep is there to meet our needs

Marketing Cloud - The best for Sophisticated Email Marketers
I both love and hate it. I love most of the elements of this product but it can definitely stump me sometimes.
- This product can do it all
- If you have complex data, segmentation and campaign needs, this is likely the product for you
- I love how many options it provides and how I can use Trailhead to learn
- It's not a drag and drop type of product
- While Content Builder is useful for the less technically inclined and Journey Builder is relatively user friendly, in general, you need to know a decent amount of coding languages
- SQL is particularly useful, as is Ampscript
- It takes a while to really learn this product and its best to use a third party to set it up for you

I needed more robust options than I could accomplish with Mailchimp and I wanted the features that came from having an integrated CRM.

- I love using SFMC
- It's actually the biggest reason I have kept my current job as long as I have, because we use this software
- I write journeys to send content and use those journeys in complex ways to add folks to a campaign after they have gotten an email or to direct them down a path for a specific plan or program they may have for a more targeted email
- Or I used dynamic content in content builder when building emails so folks can get more customized emails
- I also can write the ampscript into the emails in content builder
- I frequently write data extensions in email studio and put them on automations
- I use salesforce marketing cloud hourly at my job and love it
- So many capabilities
- Not one con, I love using it and train others how to use it

Still a great marketing tool as well as a great CRM tool allowing businesses to record and target specific demographics with specific contents

Most convenient marketing automation system in a Salesforce environment
I've used many different marketing automation solutionsbefore, and each have their pro's and con's, but anytime I'm working within a Salesforce environment, Salesforce Marketing Cloud is my goto. While other marketing automation systems offer Salesforce integrations, they're essentially iframed into Salesforce to give the visual impression that they're fully integrated, but once diving into the details, there are inconvenient gaps that open up opportunities for human error and data being out of sync. I have yet to encounter a marketing automation software that integrates as seamlessly as Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Extensive features, and seamless integration with Salesforce CRM
- No other marketing automation system that I've used works as smoothly with Salesforce CRM as Salesforce Marketing Cloud
