A convenient spreadsheet-like database for your projects
I've used Airtable for many projects of mine mostly as my database. It's really convenient for small projects and the free tier is very generous.
- The user experience of Airtable is really great
- You can easily navigate through the app and find what you want
- Also, I love how easily you can create relations between tables
- Also the API documentation is perfect
- In the past versions of Airtable you could host assets (images etc
- ) in the cells and Airtable was providing a permanent URL for them
- It seems that this features is gone now and I really miss it

Good software but pretty expensive so not for everyone
As we are remote based workers, the tool eliminates us constantly messaging each other through the day asking “what’s the status”, the status is available in the base. The data replication from our existing tools is also simplified and I am not forced to enter the same information twice (which wasted hours of my time prior). It has provided value to the marketing team as they now have a centralized location to house their creative assets so they’re not drowning in an ocean of emails.
- The forms worked better than expected at automating data intake, so I don’t have to type everything in by hand and I’m grateful for that
- The ability to view both a timeline and a board view give me a visual of the disaster that we have going on as far as our schedule goes without having to ask the five different people involved what’s going on
- The mobile application feels stiff and upon clicking links from an email they do not open within the app and instead load forever making me want to simply throw the phone
- There seems to be an ease in over engineering the entire system and subsequently no one will know how to use the system as we’ve created it to be too complex due to the excessive amount of fields

Smartsheet is very expensive, but Airtable is more affordable while offering the same features.

Platform Customization and Features Are Unmatched to Peers
I've used Airtable for the last 6 years at two different companies and have loved working with it. It is easy to use, highly customizable to specific outputs, and continues to grow its features over time.

The functionality has become more limited on the free version; although the cost per user per month is a good value for what you receive in benefits, including the advanced features, interfaces, automations with emails, etc

Empowering and Evolving
Our team operates one of the largest Airtable environments — possibly the largest — and that speaks volumes about the platform’s flexibility and capability. Airtable has been instrumental in helping us build a robust, highly customized infrastructure to support our operations. That said, working at this scale does present challenges. As our environment has grown, we’ve started to notice performance slowdowns on an almost daily basis. It's a testament to how deeply integrated Airtable is in our workflows — but also a signal that further optimization at scale would make a big difference. The mobile app, while feature-rich, has been less reliable in our experience. It tends to crash or close unexpectedly about a third of the time we open it, which can be frustrating in time-sensitive situations. Despite these issues, Airtable remains a core part of our system, and its potential continues to impress. We’re optimistic that future updates will bring even greater stability and performance, especially for enterprise-scale users like us.
- I came to Airtable with very little coding knowledge, but it not only helped me accomplish everything I needed — it actually propelled me beyond basic programming skills
- Learning to use formulas and scripts within Airtable gave me the confidence and tools to start thinking like a developer

- Airtable is offering amazing ways to organize and manage data
- I've been using it for many mouths now and I'm completely loved to it
- Unlike Google Sheet or Excel, there's almost less risk for me to messing up the data
- I don't like how it doesn't show who made the last changes
- I can see the version history, but I'm not able to know who made it

Notion looks very much like Airtable, but it isn't meant for data asset management. It only offers a few MB for storage for the free plan, I would say.

Used to be a collab, now it's an AI lab
Airtable used to be a collab tool for non-technical teams, but it rebranded itself, and now it's an AI automations building platform. Not sure how that meeting went, but it's confusing.
In its previous life, it used to have a wide range of uses, including CRMs, project management, and content calendars (and the freemium to use all of that is generous)
- The biggest issue is that they changed course, from a collaboration tool to an AI platform
- I'm not sure how its newest product is different from its current competitors

It's great, part of our day to day and helps to track experimentation and also see clear winners and losers.
- We use airtable to manage all of our experiments across plaforms in our agency
- It's really easy to use and allows collaboration across teams seamlessly
- For everything we use it for, it's perfect
- But they could expand their features outside of current offering to make the testing world better
