"The future is now!"
Saves us time with client and task tracking. No more chasing spreadsheets and lists.
- Extremely responsive customer service with lots of great customization to help keep your workflow on task
- One stop shop to keep track of your workflow while maintaining client data and files
- Endless opportunities due to constant upgrades and add-ons
- We are currently migrating our entire firm onto the platform and utilizing the client portal feature to exchange information and save on printing, customer requests and storage options
- Most impressive is their constant interaction asking how they can improve and getting feedback on new features
- I really don't have any dislikes, and if something is a little clunky with a layout or usability they are usually upgrading or fixing it
- I'm excited to see tax software so I guess I dislike not having it
- The tax software would plug another hole and add well to the transcript and tax form resolution features

Basic Accounting Software or CRM
overall very good but pricey. The price was too much like around $500 a month which is a lot. that also in USD.

Great Product! Such a Time Saver!
Love it! I would recommend it to anyone who regularly deals with IRS transcripts! Has saved us so much time!
- Pulling IRS transcripts using this software is a dream
- When you get transcripts through the IRS website you have to pull them one at a time, and if they aren't ready yet you have to repeat this process everyday
- With Canopy, you enter the taxpayer's information and then all you have to do to refresh the information is click the refresh button
- So much easier to use
- Plus you can setup multiple client at one time and let the software run in the background until it has checked them all with the IRS, meanwhile you can move on to other work
- It would be easier if you didn't have to reestablish the link to the IRS everyday, and wait for the IRS code to come through
- However, for security reason I understand why this is necessary

Great all-in-one tool but pricey and need polish
Good for accounting and tax calculation needs for who want everything in one system. Once you get used to it, makes work faster and more simple.
- Easy to use, clean design
- Client portal is super helpful, clients upload docs, see invoices, all in one place, saves lot of time
- Helped a lot when I had to prepare documentation for clients taxes
- Price is a bit high, some file issues happen and workflow not always flexible
- Few bugs here and there can slow things down

Good software with strong features and lots of promise at a pricey point.
My overall experience with Canopy has been a good one thus far. Even though I bitch about the cost l, I continue to stay because of the ease of use, simplicity for my clients, and automation I’ve created within my tech stack.
- The best feature is the client portal and mobile app
- It has been a business transformation blessing from way before COVID was ever a thing
- I remember way back in 2017 when the mobile app was nearly launching how it revolutionized the way my clients do business with me
- This is what has kept me on Canopy in spite of the price hikes
- Canopy recently has changed their pricing model and I don’t like it because it increases the barriers to tax professional adoption
- There are other titles out there who bring good feature sets and a much lower price point and has given me reason to start shopping elsewhere
- What keeps me at Canopy is not wanting to invest the time in moving my clients files over to a new system, notifying my clients that I virtually moved virtual offices, and avoiding the headaches of all the client questions that would ensue

I wanted a good tax management experience and the one provided by Canopy was superior to other competitors at that time around 2016-2017.

Simplifies Workflow, but Some Features Need Polish

- What I liked most about Canopy is how much time it saves managing client documents and deadlines
- The task tracking and built-in client portal make collaboration easier and reduce back and forth emails
- It's especially helpful during tax season when things get chaotic
- Some of the reporting features feel underdeveloped
- I sometimes struggle to get the exact data I need without exporting it to Excel
- Also, mobile access could be smoother it's functional, but not great on the go

- It helped our team work together on numerous complicated projects over the multiple years that we used Canopy
- I also liked that I could use all of the training that was available
- There was a lot to learn to use how to use Canopy effectively
- The financial cost to use Canopy was significant

Decent Program
Not bad, overall we like using it at work
- Multiple ways to access/find documents which is great
- Have to create business and personal portals separate
- Also, we have a cap on the clients we can add, which isn't helpful

A good, but expensive product
Overall it was a good product that served my primary use requirements. However, it wasn't a perfect solution for the needs of my firm and was relatively expensive.
- Document management and signature requests
- The client request process could've been improved
- The software was also relatively expensive for add-on features
