JumpCloud enables remote Workforce
The problem that I'm solving is inherent in how we built our business. We have offices around the world, work from anywhere culture, and many cloud bases "as-a-service" solutions that allow us to be agile. JumpCloud allows our IT to be more agile.
- I like the flexibility in deployment and can use the features at my own pace
- For example, integrating JumpCloud to manage Google Workspace while retaining Google Sign-In keeps the employee experience the same while allowing my IT teams to manage the workforce more efficiently
- Another feature that I find most valuable is the device management solution, specifically Windows
- We can deploy and control systems in seconds from anywhere in the world
- Directory Insights, a valuable tool for me, is still not polished enough
- I would love to see more filtering, custom query building, reporting, and the ability to create alerts

Outstanding MDM, SSO and Directory Services Platform
One of the most impressive things about JumpCloud is how they take customer feedback so seriously. I recently met the [sensitive content hidden] of JumpCloud, [sensitive content hidden] and he was very interested to understand some of the features we would want to see in future iterations of JumpCloud and he had his product team listen to these and include some of these in future builds. JumpCloud is already such an all round MDM, directory services and SSO platform with many useful features for a modern and hybrid workplace.
- JumpCloud provides an outstanding alternative to Microsoft Entra ID as a directory service and combines this with a single sign on solution for multiple platforms
- JumpCloud is also one of the best dual operating systems MDM on the market
- JumpCloud provides excellent value for money, customer support and integrations to third-party application
- There is not much I can fault with JumpCloud
- If I had to be picky I would say it does not have as much integration with Macs as Jamf or Kandji does or as much integration as Microsoft InTune does with Windows machines but it is rapidly expanding and adding more features on a regular basis

It’s great when it works
I think it’s great when it works and when you’re not being inconveniently locked out. At times even when asking for permission via mobile device there are kinks that don’t allow notifications to come through even though notifications are fully enabled.
I like that it provides secure access to the different platforms we use at our company and that it has a mobile option
- I do not like what happens after passwords have been reset
- A lot of the programs we access via JumpCloud no longer allow automatic access

Good product with learning curve
I have a mixed experience with it and have decided to move on to other solutions that are simpler and more SMB friendly.
- It is a single platform to manage all my accounts, both for saas services and devices
- This allows me to use it as a poor version of Okta
- The product is somewhat complex to use and has a steep learning curve
- Also it includes device management, so can't be used with other MDM solutions
- For SMB companies, the value can also be obtained by google SSO and Microsoft Entra/AD

JumpCloud has quickly solved many long term problems
Overall JumpCloud has been a a massive improvement over our previous solution, both in performance, reliability and consistency. Even with us only tapping into a fraction of JumpClouds true potential, the benefits in Device management and visibility have been, without question, superior to our previous setup.
- Compatibility: JumpCloud works with our previously supported Operating Systems, both Windows and Mac JumpCloud has also allowed us to expand our offering to company employees
- Many users desired to use a Linux based distribution but we were unable to accommodate this with our previous MDM but with JumpCloud we've been able to officially support the release of Ubuntu to the company
- JumpCloud is able to integrate with our Inventory Management Tool, AssetSonar, and give us up to date information for all of our devices
- AssetSonar now has an updated agent for devices running both Ubuntu and Debian
- JumpCloud integration allows us to make sure the information stays consistent by providing additional redundancy
- Speed: JumpCloud is super easy to setup
- As soon the agent is installed, which generally takes less than 2 minutes, the device appears in JumpCloud and information starts being reported
- Even more so now that we have the Automated Device Enrollment enabled for macOS, this process is even more seamless and so far has allowed us consistent control of the devices in our fleet
- Support: JumpCloud support has been extremely helpful
- They are responsive and thorough
- If they don't the answer to a solution they go and find out
- Our biggest support issue with our last platform was that we didn't really receive any support
- We would submit a claim and they would either respond slowly or give us limited information for our problem and then drag out getting a solution from them for months with little to no communication
- JumpCloud has been nothing but helpful, even with small seemingly obvious problems
- The lack of customization for Reporting
- There is a very limited selection of reports that can be run and information that can be exported
- JumpCloud does not have a native method for changing account passwords nor does it store the randomly generated passwords for the JumpCloud service accounts and the user accounts that were automatically created by JumpCloud (Windows)
- For us, we use JumpCloud as an MDM exclusively, but our passwords are managed externally as we are using the federated integration
- This could use some improvement to allow us the ability to manage passwords locally in JumpCloud without changing a users default password which will then be sent upstream and affect the Federated account
- JumpCloud doesn't have direct integration with any security platforms that allows Admins to view the statuses of devices from the Admin console
- This creates a situation of constantly having to try to export and compare limited reports between JumpCloud and our Security Platform
- Non-Standard features (Not a dislike but a possible improvement to consider): JumpCloud doesn't possess the ability to create custom fields for devices in order to store additional information JumpCloud doesn't have a quick method of accessing our integrated platform
Switched From
Rippling, as an MDM, was extremely unreliable. The agent would often fail and need to be reinstalled. The installation, especially on Windows machines, would sometimes take upwards of 12 hours to fully complete the installation process. Device information was not updated regularly, no integration and the deployment of custom scripts was vague and also unreliable.

A management platform with incredible features – and some downfalls
JumpCloud is an interesting product in that it's a bit of an all-or-nothing situation. For companies that half-way commit to implementing JumpCloud, it's terrible and confusing. But for the companies I've worked with that have fully committed to making JumpCloud their source of truth for identity management, computer account management, and SSO, it's been great.
- The parts that work well in JumpCloud are amazing
- The best feature, in my opinion, is the local user account management on computers
- Being able to remotely reset a password, add a new account, or shut down an account instantly is something that no other SaaS offering can match at this level
- There are some pretty big gaps in features and functionality
- No smart user or computer groups
- No FileVault key rotation
- Software deployment leaves a lot to be desired

Jumpcloud as our primary directory
Overall Jumpcloud has been a great way to integrate cloud and operating system logins for our company
broad support for many platforms as well as many login languages and operating systems
I feel like despite paying for the best customer service that we dont always get the most knowledgeable people supporting us

Jumpcloud - A Great Directory Platform!
Its great! We got a good price for it. And we also use the MDM features that comes with the licenses as well.
- I love that i can easily import users from multiple vendors
- I love the office 365 management as well
- Allows for easy onboarding and offboarding
Sometimes when your in the user view searching for users isn't always the most accurate if they have unique names

Efficient Management of Lesser Used Operating Systems
JumpCloud Directory Platform allows us to effectively managed a variety of endpoints, including OSes that are not supported by other RRM tools.
JumpCloud Directory Platform allows for management of Linux systems that are not supported by some competing RMM tools
- JumpCloud Directory Platform can be a bit complicated when compared to some RMM tools
- This can cause confusion for less experienced technicians

Easily enables enables the syncing of users, groups, and passwords between JumpCloud and different products
- Excellent tool to provide solid SSO login service and secure info
Not very user friendly for Mac calling for consistent logins each time during restarting computer
