About ScreenConnect

ScreenConnect is a cloud-based operations management solution that allows technicians to perform remote support, gain remote access and run remote meetings. It acts as a meeting point for technicians and customers, enabling them to receive solutions without phone or chat sessions. The solution's remote support allows users to remotely view and control devices, servers or workstations. Users can create and manage sessions from a customizable and brandable centralized control panel. With ScreenConnect's remote access, users can gain access to and control unattended servers or computers. This model helps users install and upgrade customer computers without requiring manually enabled connections. ScreenConnect's remote meeting and presentation feature allows users to share their screen with one or more individuals. Users can collaborate with team members, provide project updates, conduct training sessions and make presentations. ScreenConnect allows the presenter to share their screen with the audience. It offers a mobile application for iOS and Android devices. ScreenConnect is available on an annual subscription basis that includes support via phone.

Great Remote Assist Tool With Powerful Features

Overall, I like it and I would recommend it.

What they liked
  • I like that it’s easy to install, the UI is decent and technical
  • There are tons of features and more than 1 way to do things
  • Being able to go “backstage” and run commands, manage data, change settings, etc
Room for improvement
  • It was a little buggy sometimes but all software has bugs
  • There are times I wanted features to work or be implemented like remote printing, separate displays into different windows, record a single screen at a time if there are multiple monitors

Strongest Remote Access Tool in the Game

Overall, my experience has been very positive. We use Screenconnect to connect to sessions from NinjaRMM and that integration is seamless. Privileged Access Management is not only easy to setup, but offers deep configuration options to allow automatic execution of elevated prompts. Screenconnect blows it's counterparts out of the water, and there is no contest to what tool I would rather use.

What they liked
  • Screenconnect is an incredibly mature product with an expanding set of features and customization that can sometimes surpass other products in the Connectswise stack
  • Between reliable connectivity to endpoints, support for PAM, and strong reporting, it is my team's favorite remote connection utility
Room for improvement
  • Support is occasionally poor, but I believe this is a Connectwise issue that has been longstanding
  • Features are sometimes changed without too much notice, leading to confusion from technical resources

ScreenConnect can get the job done

ScreenConnect got the job done. That was the extent. It was a nice tool to implement quickly but I do not recommend it for long term use especially if you expect company growth in the future.

What they liked
  • It was easy to use and provided the basics of what was needed to support our machines
  • It had enough structure to make it easy to onboard
Room for improvement
  • It sometimes felt that it had too many guardrails and left me wanting to be able to do more
  • When compared to other products, it felt lacking

A remote support tool that just works

I have been through many implementations, the most recent of which was a month ago. They are all fairly consistent and with each one they provide an implementation specialist that will help answer questions.

What they liked
  • Their software works well with most every operating system and internet connection I have ever tried it on
  • Using this service internationally, also works well and it includes all of the tools I have ever needed when supporting a user remotely
Room for improvement

Their documentation is awful and the turnover at ConnectWise leaves the inexperienced staff a little over their heads when it comes to complicated configuration needs/issues

Switched From

Their software did not handle UAC prompts and it was not stable. We often found computers where the software was not running and it prevented us from effectively supporting the user.

Great Product, Good Company

Its been Great, Its Easy to Use and train new techs on how to connect, run scripts, and setup software.

What they liked
  • It works great
  • It lets us Connect to Our Clients Computers and run scripts and repairs, The Customer Support is also very easy to connect to and very helpful
Room for improvement
  • Sometimes the Agent Doesnt install properly and we have to contact support
  • The Only other Con I can think of is the site will go down about once a month but it is normally resolved fairly quickly

An excellent remote software tool

Our general experience with ConnectWise ScreenConnect has been great we are able to connect to our users machines transfer files, run scripts and commands seamlessly with great support for multiple monitors and perirpherals

What they liked

Screenconnect is simple to use and provides powerful and easy to use tools like remote desktop, running powershell scripts, command line scripts, software deployment and more

Room for improvement

the UI can look better it looks a little dated but the functionality is very good, it is also easy to deploy using an agent

Fantastic tool for remote support

Overall this platform is still one of the strongest in the market with its scripting ability as well as the ability to reboot and wait for a client

What they liked
  • Ease of use Installation simplicity Customisation and unattended remote support

It has some weakness with the connectwise home setup and is clobbered together with other poorer solution's

Switched From

TeamViewer cost had gone up drastically as well as the breaches they had it wasn't a good fit

Multi-monitor support, low bandwidth support, toolbox, chat, wake lock, extensibility, cross-platform, everything you could want in a remote support tool

Room for improvement

On-prem was retired, cloud was not as customizable, also not great that it got bought by ConnectWise and rebranded to Control

THE perfect alternative to Anydesk or TeamViewer.

Great app, super easy to deploy. We had some follow up emails from our trial from someone at ConnectWise to check in which was a nice touch, and the whole process from start to finish was really really smooth.

What they liked
  • ScreenConnect is incredible
  • The process of deploying to various endpoints is super easy via Intune - just build the app from the admin portal and deploy the MSI file
  • Being able to disable guest input is super handy when providing remote support to users who continue working whilst you're trying to make a fix
Room for improvement

The admin panel isn't the clearest - turning off features like the desktop preview images should be far easier, we had to do some Googling to find out how to do it as it feels like an invasion of privacy

Switched From

Teamviewer became horrifically expensive when managing over 500 devices, to add an extra 500 was horrendous and they would only allow this if we renewed our contract for an additional 2 years. Managing the install via Intune of Teamviewer has become a massive chore too - some devices for some reason fail to load the app which is annoying when trying to remotely manage and support users.

Why they chose it

"AnyDesk is great, however the ability to build your own app for your environment is the worst experience we've ever had. The build tool is slow, seems to forget half of the options you'd selected and unattended access was painful. I don't know who at AnyDesk signed off on the tool, but it needs to be removed."
